Nope I dont.I remember a few things though before the game was released. The developers stated something about dual layered I think.Probably it was just hype.

Or I confused it with another game.

I said I wasnt 100% sure.

Are there any games on dual layered DVDs?  I dont think there are,  and I rather not be bothered with changing/flipping discs anymore,  thats so PS1

I know GT4 pushed the DVD to the limit,   lets say for example each car is 4mb x 700 cars = 2.8 GB

50 tracks at 20mb a piece = 1GB

cars 2.8mb
+
tracks 1mb

=  3.8 GB  = 1 DVD

I just guessed at these numbers,  but they probably are close to the real thing.  I\'m sure PD used 80%+ of the DVD on GT4

Now how will PD ever get 100 tracks and 1,000+ cars on a DVD with PS3 resolution etc?

I\'d rather not have the game split up on a dual DVD,  and I dont think it is even possible to fit GT5 on a DVD,  dual or not,  unless it has 300 or less cars,  it will be on a blu-ray disk,  believe me.

So back to topic,  I\'m hoping multiplatform games like RE5 arent\' scaled back to fit on DVD,  when they can be fully realized on a blu ray disk

Your back on topic, is barely on topic.  Please refrain from trolling and pulling numbers out of your ass.

Thank you.

As for the whole cave thing, meh, I see it as nothing more than a modified save room.  I really don\'t see it having as much of an effect on the style the latest games have taken on.  I\'m just worried it\'s going to be, oh no, I\'m almost too hot, let me pull out my assault rifle and gun down everything with my almost limitless amount of ammo so I can go to my cave quicker.  RE has made me jaded.

I\'m not a tech person,  is dual layered where both sides of the disks have info?  Thats what I think it is since I\'ve came across several movies that way.  GT4 is not that way,  unless dual layered doesnt always mean both sides have data

no.. thats double sided dvds.  Dual layer is when the dvd holds 2 layers of info on one side. The lens switches layers.

"ow Dual-Layer DVD Media Works

Dual-layer DVD-Video media has been used for several years by the DVD movie industry. Dual-layer DVDs have a thin substrate layer between the first and second layers of DVD data. Single-sided dual-layer DVD-Video media is known as DVD-9. Note that DVD+R DL is also referred to as DVD+R9. It has a capacity of 8.5GB (slightly less than twice the 4.7GB capacity of standard DVD-5 media). It\'s also possible to have double-sided dual-layer DVD-Video media, known as DVD-18; some movie vendors use this technology to place widescreen (letterbox) and fullscreen (4:3 TV format) versions of a film on a single DVD. The user inserts the media into the DVD player or drive with the widescreen side up to view the film in its original format. By inserting the media with the fullscreen side up, the film can be viewed in its modified TV format. Almost all DVD set-top boxes and DVD-ROM drives except for possibly some very old models can read DVD-9 and DVD-18 media. Inside the drive, a single laser is refocused when switching between layers, accounting for a slight delay when moving from the top to the bottom layer"

Trolling?  How exactly am I trolling?  Anytime I say something that may seem or is anti-xbox it is trolling?  If Microsoft said they were going to buy out Square or soemthing and I said I didnt like it would that be trolling?  Please don\'t copy and paste what your buddies say

Making up numbers?  Those numbers are more of an educated guess then anything,  educated as in I\'ve downloaded myriads of tracks and cars online for other sim racers and know how many mbs they usually are

Thansk for clearing that up

I didnt know about that,  I just thought dual layered meant both sides were readable,  totally changes my whole perspective

hmmm...
i put my metal gear solid 2 disc into the computer and it read 4.30 GBytes.  That sounds like a singel layer to me because dvd can store up to 4.38 Gbytes for single layer.

Well than how the hell are you going to make an educated guess.  Downloading tracks from other games is hardly grounds for making anything resembling an educated guess.  Are they user made tracks, or extra tracks provided by the company?  Maybe the company got lazy on trying to keep the size down since they are add-ons.  Too many variables for an educated guess. For Christ\'s sake, it\'s not even the same game!  That\'s why I say it\'s pulling numbers out of your ass.

And just out of curiousity, why is having two discs so bad?  I didn\'t see anyone bitching in the FF7 appreciation thread about having to get up to change discs.

God, I wish I had something to keep this on topic, but nobody is even talking about RE5 anymore, so yeah...
