Not only were the reports of looting greatly exaggerated, but, according to an unreleased census study done by The Biloxi Herald (yea, I got contacts) the majority of those killed in the wake of Katrina were white.

Minorities, too, had great casualities, but those depicted on broadcast news struggling the most were blacks. It\'s been stated that broadcast journalists also actively sought out interviewees who "couldn\'t string together a sentence with a subject and verb."

Perhaps one good thing that could come out of this terrible hurricane season is the opening up the race debate - something that hasn\'t been sexy to talk about since the days of the equal rights movement.

Also, did anyone else not give a shit that people were "looting?"

I mean, these people were fending for their lives, not looking to score a super-sweet plasma tv.

The reason people were stealing clothes is because the ones they were wearing were soaked, tattered, and weeks old with liquid filth.

The reason people were stealing food was because they were starving.

The reason peple were stealing televisions and radios was to attain some sort of contact from the outside world that could help.

Although, if they were to actually do so, they would have been met with the lying Mike Brown and the dumbfounded George Bush...
