Sure..

SSX
TimeSplitters
Summoner
RRV
Tekken Tag
Unreal Tourament

Sure, it was "user error". Could also attribute that to you have the blinders on.

if blinders = fun gaming, then yes!

SSX rocked, im sorry if you don\'t fit into the 95% demographic of gamers that loved the game (and curse EA for doing something different)

timeslitters got rave reviews, perhaps it was the 60fps gaming that threw you off
RRV rocked too

meh,..looks impressive but i\'m with mm on this one,...it\'s just madden with prettier graphics,..add to the fact that i\'m not big on madden\'s gameplay front the jump, *espn all the way!* and i\'ll pass on this one, and  samauri,  you don\'t have to get the 360 just for madden, i\'m sure this will be available on the ps3 with the same graphics......only game that\'s got my attention on the 360 is gears of war....

No, it was the simple gameplay and low res textures that threw me off. Sure, it was 60fps, but if you turn everything off, just about any game can hit that.

So the gameplay needs to be complex and it needs great graphics for it to be enjoyable?

meh, fuck it, I\'m going to play tetris.

No, but people act like Timesplittes and SSX was some great games that made a great launch and, in my opinion that is not the case. Timesplitters was a medicore FPS and SSX...Don\'t get me started on that.

Ah, screw it. We\'ve been over this a zillion times since the PS2 launch. Nothing has changed. Opinions have not swayed and they will not. Why argue about it again? It can be summed up..

1: I was extremely dissapointed with the PS2 launch.

2: Some people enjoyed it.

Let\'s move on and be dissapointed with this generation.

Well just put it this way:  Would you pay $400+ just to play either Timesplitters or SSX with no other games to choose from?

They were fun but nothing special.

That is my point. Do the launch games justify the purchase? Now, I am not one to say there is anything wrong with being an early adopter, but I think a lot of times people spend the money and are blinded by that. They don\'t want to face the reality that they invested all this money into games that otherwise would be viewed as marginal..  However, a lot of comes down to personal taste. I for one, hated the PS2 launch and have had a sour taste for Sony ever since. On the other hand, I loved the DC launch.

Let me reiterate what I said, I enjoyed them.  That does not mean they were AAA titles, matter of fact, they weren\'t.  They were above average and I couldn\'t find anything similar to that on the PS1 or N64 at the time (I don\'t believe the DC had an SSX or Timesplitter equivalent either).

I also got my PS2 6 months after its release.
