...seriously tho...i try not to put regular gas in any of my vehicles..only mid grade and up...alot of people say i should just put regular in both vehicles,...but i don\'t know,..i\'ve always just felt that with regular gas your car won\'t run as good...probably ignorance on my part tho,...but that\'s how i\'ve always been....
COmplete ignorance on your part.
If you car is built for 87, put in 87. Putting in higher does absolutely nothing.
Higher octane gas is for higher compression engines that build up more pressure. Higher octane is less volatile so it is able to keep from igniting till the piston gets higher.
If you put low octane gas in a high compression engine it will fire way early and really decrease your performance. Your engine will probably adjust, but it\'s still not good.
Other way around. Higher octane gas in engine that doesn\'t need higher octane? Well that does nothing. You are still firing the spark plug to fire at 10degrees after TDC. So it\'s money wasted.
