Time to get a new compy?
« Reply #30 on: October 11, 2005, 06:48:52 AM »
and as for room, its not so much that I don\'t think I have the Desk space for it.  My desk was built for a computer, but my space for a monitor is concave, and I don\'t want it to block my view of the monitor, although  I doubt it will.

For Monitors here\'s what I\'m looking at...

\"In the last 12 months 100,000 private sector jobs have been lost and yet you\'ve created 30,000 public sector jobs. Prime Minister, you cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecidented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt.\" - Daniel Hannan

Agree\'d with MM.

You aren\'t going to use 2 Gigs of RAM.
Raid 0 means you have double the risk of losing your data. Not to mention you are not going to notice a performance jump and in some cases, may lose performance with a RAID 0 setup.

Yeah I won\'t need the 2 Gigs now, but in say 2 years, I\'ll be ready, as opposed to havuing to replace 2x 512 with 2x 1024

in two years...you\'ll be upgrading your PC anyways.  hell, DDR probably will be history in 2 years

"futureproofing" is a stupid term in relation to computers.  it\'s a lie

I got a gig and a half right now. Been thinking about going up to two but I figure another 512 wont make any difference.

Go RAID 0. We don\'t care. It\'s your money to waste.

I know, but I\'m trimming the fat right now.
