It isn\'t more valid. It\'s just that Epic\'s a big name in the industry.

Yeah, now they are. Back when they basically had just the Unreal series and a bunch of old-school shareware games to their credit.. I wouldn\'t hold them even close in comparison to some of the Japanese devs that like Revolution.

back when they \'had a bunch of shareware\' games, they and apogee were like the the only competition out there for the early PC graphical games, and virtually everyone I knew then had played Jazz Jackrabbit, Castle of the Winds, Zargon, Solar Winds, Silverball plus, Zone 66...  They had some pretty good titles, for a company who sold their games for 10 bucks.  While they went through some tough times in th late 90s, they\'ve made a full comback, starting with Age of Wonders in 1999, and are bigger than ever now.

In any event, they\'ve been around a long time, and have a core of hardcore gamer/developers that you shouldn\'t be so quick to dismiss.

Well, they\'d still be wrong to knock the revolution controller.

prematurely.....

He\'s probably right that there will be some games which\'ll be mediocre, becuz of gimmicky gamedesign purely based on the controller instead of a good game idea.

Of course, rotten apples can be found anywhere.

I know that Epic\'s had a good run. I own Jazz Jackrabbit and a few of their other titles (including Unreal, UT, and UT2K4) but even with their history.. they still don\'t hold a candle to Konami, Capcom, or even Namco yet.

Also, Age of Wonders is by Triumph Studios with Epic Games. Collaboration, mostly Triumph.

getting a lot of old dos games to run is an art, one I\'ve taken up, cause I still play moo, mom, etc, once in a while.  Try the home of the underdogs (google it), and there are lots of tips on making old stuff work on new systems.
