The new \'Superman Returns\' teaser...
« on: November 18, 2005, 12:15:05 AM »
Article

The teaser is playing before the new Potter movie, and played yesterday with smallville.  Just watched the HDTV version of it, and thought I\'d make a thread for comments.

1) Clark/Superman - He definitely looks better than I thought he would from the early graphics of the actor and costume.  A bit smaller than I might imagine superman as being, but not so much as to detract.

2) Metropolis has been taken to a very dark, dingy place, reminicent of Gotham city from the early batmans.  Not at all how I would imagine Metropolis.  Even the Daily planet had a dark metal and faded logo above their entrance.

3) Apparantly this movie is not really going to tie in with the new smallville series at all.  I don\'t have a beef with that at all, although a superman movie with Smallville\'s characters and a continuing storyline would also be cool.

4) For a teaser, they showed basically nothing of enemies, the FOS, or really any action shots.

I kinda wish they didn\'t copy off the Matrix and have him fly like that but it still looks cool. ;\\

I wanna hear him talk.  Curious to see if they\'ll have him be a panzy at a younger age or not.

Honestly, I don\'t see what\'s so popular about Christopher Reeves as Superman anyway?

I would thought it\'s going to be popular, but i wouldn\'t expect it to be this popular...

The guy that play the original Batman.  There, that guy have the looks of batman.  He looks like the cartoon Batman that I used to watch a lot when i was little...

If you don\'t know why Christopher Reeves was perfect as Superman/Clark Kent, then you\'ll never understand.

is it because his arse looked nice in those red knickers?
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you. I don't care where you've  been or what you plan to do. I am the resurrection and I am the light. I  couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

Huh?

First off, Reeve (THERE IS NO S IN HIS LAST NAME!) was the perfect Superman for a number of reasons, to many to list.

Second, what "guy that play the original Batman"? Adam West? Or the serials? I know you aren\'t talkin\' about Michael Keaton, who was a great Batman, but terrible Bruce Wayne. He looked nothing like the Bruce Timm designs that you are reffering to.

Reeves was a great Superman at the time, but since then Superman has been reinvented into something new and different so it\'s tough to say.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Yep. There was George Reeves. Then there was Christopher. This new superman in the sky blue scaly tights is uh...well....the story should be better than the outfit.

Personally, I love the new costume. Its darker in colour and not so fruity like the old ones.

Batman changed for the better and Superman should too.

Umm... if anything, The Matrix copied off the original Superman films.
