cable hookups

ok,

what is th optimal setup (or what should I have hooked up) to
A. DVR-CAble box
B. DVD recorder
C. TV

A - coax cable in and out (DUH), Composite out (2 sets) digital audio out, S-video out

B-S-video in and out, Digital audio out, component and composite in and out

C- Coax in, S-video in, component and coposite in and composite out

I have the component in from my PS2.  and the composite out on the TV to my sound system.

I know I have something going somehere 2 times but I am not sure.

what are your guys suggestions on wiring this????

I would guess just go composite form cable box to DVD recorder?

I am planning on getting another TV soon with HDMI or DVI input (and of course most have component) but it would be an easier transition once I get everyting else wired the best way

thnxs

DO you have a stereo to use as a switcher?  If so I\'d go SVideo everything to the stereo and then one svideo to the tv...  DIgital audio to the stereo plus analog audio to the stereo for each component as well.

Either that or I would loop through the DVD recorder.  Svideo to the DVD recorder then SVideo from DVD Recorder to the TV.  Doing that since you only have one SVideo input on the TV.

You really have very basic stuff so there aren\'t too many options.

actually I have Y-splitters on my stereo (actually it is a Cambridge Soundworks Dolby digital 5.1 surround speaker system (it is the one for video games)  it has optical digital in (one major selling point to me getting it for my PS2 so I could run composite to my TV and have better audio through my stereo than through my crappy tv speakers....) and digital coax in.

the reason for the splitters is I have Pseudo 7.1 surround (I hooked up my boombox speakers Auxillery input from my cambridge soundworks to it.

I might have to go out and get another S-video cable (only have 1 right now from the DVD recorder to the TV)

UPDATE:  Did the svideo from cable to DVD recorder to TV and my DVD recorder needs to be on........dont really like that.......

yeah. It has to be on.  But it\'s not like it\'s doing anything.  It\'s just a go between so you can have the svideo cable working for both items.

I have to do that with my HDTivo.  The darn thing doesn\'t come with a coax out.  I have to take the composite outs to a VCR and then use the VCR to send out a coax signal to my other room.
