Preliminary hardware numbers indicate that the Game Boy Advance line, including all versions of the handheld, led the charge for the month of November, outselling all video game hardware with around 900,000 units. The PS2 came in second, with around 550,000 consoles sold. Nintendo\'s DS finished up third with 380,000, narrowly outperforming the 360,000 Sony PSPs sold in the month. The newly-released Xbox 360 came next, selling through its entire first run at 300,000 (not including the five million systems Microsoft undoubtedly has stockpiled in an Arizona warehouse).

I know this isn\'t new to many but it is to me - Microsoft only launched 300,000 units?

All I can do is shake my head.  

I don\'t see how anybody cant stop the Sony train in the near future.   1-5 years.

I was gonna get it but right now there is too little emphasis on games. Actually, my exgirlfriend was gonna get it for me but she dumped me so looks like that isn\'t happening.

I could have sworn that one of the MS execs said that the initial sell through numbers were something in the area of 500,000 and that they had a phenomenal number of games being sold with each system. It was on the G4TV.com show.

wait till the PS3 launches. the PSP sales should come up.  I have seen somewhere on-line where the PSP will be 100% compatible with the PS3 an ALOT of ways!

Like the DS and Revolution will be, and GBA/GCN before them?

I expect PSP to remain a strong contender. Not better than DS in game quantity/quality for a while, but it\'ll be there.

MS is pulling idiot moves with this shortage. They should try and sell as many consoles as they can. It\'s the holiday season people will buy the fucking thing for crying out loud. Now they are going to wait too long til it all dies down and people start reserving their ps3.
