about the big/small thing. if you look at laptops and compare it to PC\'s with the same specs, laptops are expensive. I think it\'s because the littler parts are more expensive than the biggerparts that do exactly the same thing. ^_^ do I win a medal?

how about cars.  Say if this type of car have the same spec of the other car or maybe better spec, but how come the one with better spec cost cheaper than the other?  I guess parts of it have to do with build quality...

Sure one might performs better than the other and are cheaper too.  But the expensive one have better build quality and uses more expensive chips, hardware, etc.  even though the performance isn\'t as good as the cheaper one...

I guess that just shows you that you usually gets what you pay for, but not always.

the car analogy is a bit stupid because we\'re mainly talking about electronics. wood, metal, plastic doesn\'t come into it. it\'s just a bit of silocone no matter how you look at it.

Ya and cars come with different features that may not be in other cars.
1.FF7
  2. Grandia
  3. MGS
Is it me? Or does PSone own all the other systems?

Good question. I guess PS3 is different as it\'s build smaller which also helps cut down the manfacturing cost.

Common knowledge : The smaller an electronic part, the more expensive it is to manufactor. This comes into play with laptops. That kills your theory on why the PS3 is smaller. My guess would be that the model I posted is not an optimized model , not to mention, it has things like the LCD screen and other things that the PS3 won\'t feature. I\'m sure that there is a lot in a basic BR player that Sony can cut down on and still throw the BR drive into a PS3 and I would imagine that is what they are doin\'.

Oh and you also have to wonder how much of that case is just empty space. A lot of these things, when opened up have a ton of room for heat. Sony may simply opt to have more vents , etc and keep it smaller, more compact.

Oh and from Gamespot..
