Maybe they\'re cleaning up the next few episodes.

Anybody that does video editing (especially episodic TV) knows how frustrating it is.

A few things..

A. About 35 minutes into the episode (when Sawyer collapsed) I was pissed, thinking of the "SOMEBODY WILL BE LOST FOREVER" teaser.

B. Shannon was a natural choice to be killed off. Her backstory (until tonight\'s episode fleshed her out, but even so) was the weakest of anybody. As far as sex appeal goes, Kate > Shannon anyway.. so all of my fellow "dudes" don\'t need despair!

C. I\'m so glad that Michelle Rodriguez delivered the death blow. I got sick of her character after about one episode worth of "I AM THE BOSS YOU DO WHAT I SAY OR I LEAVE YOU BEHIND"... it was good to see her make a vital mistake with her itchy trigger finger.

D. I like how Sayid completely gave up on waiting for the Iraqi girl once he figured he could get Shannon in the sack. He seems like the most composed character besides Locke or Mr.Echo, but now we know he\'s just a "dude" like the rest of us.

E. I like the idea for S02E07. Given the situation, writing flashback-centric episodes (in this case showing us what happened to "the others") is a good way to prolong the series while keeping it exciting. Plowing straight through to a      logical conclusion, this series probably wouldn\'t last more than three seasons.

Actually they aren\'t "The Others"  The third group is the others.  

These are just the other passengers.

Well, the third group is the bad "others".

I was speaking relatively. They probably won\'t go that far, although you can count on some extra flashbacks to fill in for Boone and Shannon now that they\'re dead.

This latest episode pissed me off, hinted at plenty of new revelations throughout about \'the others\' without actually giving us any new info.  A whole episode about the other survivors seems like too much.  45 minutes of rehashing, 24 seconds to find out what happened to shannon, nothing new happens.  Ugh.

They gave enough tangible picture of the "others". Seems like they made their own clothes, perhaps they were born there? Also, they pick "the good" passengers. What that means, leads to more questions. But it was a good episode.
