The game is coming out in less than two weeks, and just a few days ago we got word that the PAL release will have extra content, much like ICO.

The PAL version comes in a special package with exclusive new content.

Four postcards with four different motives (see picture)
The PAL version also features an exclusive interview with Fumito Ueda and Kenjj Kaido.
There is also a picture gallery with new concept drawings and drafts. Also a trailer for ICO is included.

I have been avoiding SOC threads and reviews completely. I will certainly pick up
the Ico re release and MGS3 Subsistence, but I fear SOC will let ME down somehow....:(

You must admit the special edition is pretty cool though? ;) I have my special edition of ICO in almost perfect condition, apparently they have risen quite a lot in price.

Uni: Hmm, the same day I think. I hope its just a regular edition to PUNISH you all not for supporting the game the first time. ;)

Got the PAL demo yesterday, and I like what I see so far.

Here is a 14 minute video of the demo that I recorded in case anyone hasn’t seen the game before.

In the video I give a small tour of the scenery before I take on the Colossus.

The demo only has one Colossus and from what I hear the first one is baby stuff compared to the later bosses. :)

awesome game. The problem is i still cant really play it a second time..get bored. But whenever i finish a game like that im usually done playing it until 8 years later when i say "REMEMBER THIS GAME!?!"

NTSC = 60Hz 525 lines
PAL = 50Hz 625 lines

SotC lets you choose between 50/60Hz though, most PAL televisions support both frequencies.

Also when it comes to games there is the language differences, PAL versions often have English, German, French, Spanish and Italian language selections (I guess that\'s why there is a time delay between game releases between North America and Europe).

Depends.PAL=higher resolution NTSC=Better refresh rate

PAL games usually look cleaner but are slower while NTSC games look slightly worse but run faster.

For example TTT is 60fps super fast in its NTSC version while the PAL is slightly cleaner but runs slow.

But today many games run almost as fast as NTSC in PAL like for example Rachet and Clank, Zone of The Enders2 and Jak and Daxter.Also most PAL games have a PAL/NTSC option to choose from

Yep. PAL = cleaner image quality (high res), better colours (?)

NTSC = Higher framerate, 30/60fps compared to 25/50fps.

About the speed difference. Games which are GOOD ports does not have a speed difference between 50 and 60Hz, lousy ports like Devil May Cry (hell, see all Capcom games for examples of bad ports :D ), Final Fantasy X or Tekken Tag run much slower in PAL compared to NTSC. FFX and DMC almost appears to run in slowmotion. ;)
