House hunting...

My wife and i settled in W mass, bought a nice little colonial for $ 129.000 ,right at the foot of the bershires.

best advice i can give you?...is to leave up north! ...as many of you know already, i brought a brand new home in georgia for around 153 thou.(4br,2 1/2 bath, Liv rm, Dining rm, Den & fireplace, 2car garage) I couldn\'t see livin\' up north with those brutal taxes. Our deal came with a $7500 bulider\'s incententive which covered the closing costs, and we recieved brand new appliances in the kitchen and blinds throughout the house..:fro:..

if you\'re gonna stay in those neck of the woods tho,...have fun,as it\'s always exciting lookin for a new home,..you just have search alot and try to find the best deals you can get....for us, the incentives is what made us buy the house we have now....oh and don\'t ever do that interest only loan..EVER!..that s**t will have you hemmed up somethin\' terrible....homes that were 140 thousand down here are already goin\' for 170 thousand within a matter of months..it\'s amazing.

Interest only is a great way to go if you are only planning on staying in a couple years. I was paying 2.8% interest for a year.  I\'m now I think in the high 3\'s...  I\'m not hemmed up at all.  It\'s given me the opportunity to build another house.

that probably wouldn\'t work where I live. It seems to work only where property values are actually rising. Not Buffalo.
