I literally hope (bringing this back on topic now) that the revolution sells for 150.  Then I might actually be able to have two current systems again.  It\'ll depend on how many of those expensive PS3 games I want to spring for though...

That was funny mm.

I agree 150 bucks would make it seem too cheap. I think $199.99 is the sweet spot. If Nintendo hits that, they\'ll do just what they wanted to do and find their system popping up alongside every body else\'s PS3\'s and Xbox 360\'s.

I know I\'ll definitely get one. But after forking out for a 360, I\'m not gung ho about PS3...

I\'m almost certainly getting PS3. A Revolution price of 150 or lower would make it a bit more likely to get that too.

or probably a superb job at finding an extremely efficient way of low cost production.

Or probably a ton of ommited things that dont have to do much directly with playing games, like DVD-movie playback, less ports, lower resolution etc which would lower cost.

well.. DVD movie playback, apart from the licensing costs, is purdy much free, even with yesterday\'s hardware. so it\'s hard to imagine the revolution not having that ability. the main way it\'s going to save on cost is not having spiffy graphics - which is the main cost driver in all systems.

Nintendo is doing the only thing it can do to survive, become the budget gamers choice.

However make no mistake about it, Nintendo games will eventually be come very outclassed because of the huge technology gaps.

Well I know that my PSX couldnt do games that could play like SOTC, or Viewtiful Joe, or Devil May Cry3, or Zone of The Enders etc.Gameplay mechanics/schemes/ideas that were feasable on PS2 but not on PS1.

edit: Not to mention physics and AI generally being improved and playing a bigger part in the experience

Unfortunately only few developers tend to use better technology efficiently and most tend to upgrade just the graphics
