I dunno, unless everyone decides to piss off at once, or if the gaffer decides to shut up shop completely, I think this place will plod on.
As long as there\'s a core of (regular posting) members who stay around, it should get by. As time goes on though, less and less new people will probably join, which to be honest, is what\'s already happening.
I think it\'s just us regulars that are keeping it\'s head above water now.
I\'d hate to see what happened elsewhere on another forum I used to visit, see happen here.
The lack of a main website stopped a lot of new visitors coming in, and a few members decided that they would try to make a new website and forum.
Instead of getting everything up and running first, they posted a link to the new forum, and and boasted that there would be a new site coming to support it.
Naturally, everyone jumped ship at the hollow promise of a website, the promise of which is still undelivered, some 10 weeks or so after they broke the news.
I got the impression that there were 1 or 2 members who craved positions of power, and decided to go alone.
In the end, they leeched the existing member base away with a promise, and the forums they now have, are virtually identical to the ones they left, the majority of the memberbase is the same as the old forums, and are far from what I\'d class as a bustling community.
I\'d hate to see that done here, this place does have a rather unique character, with members to match. Even if the members did leave and go somewhere else, it just wouldn\'t have quite that same atmos.
