On the Road again
« on: March 01, 2006, 12:24:57 PM »
Man my life is a pain in the ass.  I\'m back on the road.  Now in Vegas and off to Cali in about an hour.  Oye.  Off to Texas in a week and to NY a couple weeks after that.

My life is so F\'d up now.  I am doing fine, but the wifey is knocked up, no job and due in August and we are now sitting with a construction loan waiting to be signed and building permits ready to be picked up.

ugh..  Do I still build?  WIfe has been working odd jobs the past couple weeks.  Less than she was making, but at least she is still working.  I can\'t imagine she gets a real job until October.  ANd our insurance has gone from about 100 a month to 900 a month with Cobra.  oye...

I haven\'t really worked since mid December.  I have only like 5 grand out right now to be paid.  By far the lowest I\'ve had in a long long long time.  Now though I am starting to work again and I look pretty well booked up till mid December so money will come in eventually.

So I am going to make pretty good money this year, but man it\'s still so nerve racking.  The anticipation of building a house is killing me.  Couple that with a prego wifey and my oh my this year is going to be stressful as all hell.  Hopefully I won\'t deliver the baby in our living room though.  oye...

Anyway, had a couple beers, sitting in an airpport, bored as hell, had to vent.

Cya.

I guess it depends whether or not you\'re truly worried about money.

Will it be easier to start building now, or after the Deuce is born?

Are you building the house yourself or are you hiring contractors to do it? Well I hope everything works out for you.

When is she due and how long till she can work again? That\'s a big factor.

Well I just don\'t see having a baby in the house we are in.  I just have too much shit.  And the problem with waiting to build is it only gets more expensive.  I\'m really not too worried about money.  I will make more money this year than Lona is going to lose from her salary last year, but it\'s still scarey.

My parents just built their house so I have  apretty solid list of subcontractors.  I could never afford to pay a GC to build this house.  They are wanting 140 /sqft.  This house is almost 6,000 sq/ft under roof.  That would be crazy.  I should be able to build the house for about 320,000 which would give me a mortgage around 200 grand.  Shouldn\'t be a problem.

I am at Gale Banks engineering in Azusa.  Incredible facility.  Gale Banks is a very very bright man.  I\'m only here for one day and it is going to be a ball buster.  Thanks for the offer though.

She has been working 5 days a week and looks like she\'ll be able to do it for a while.  We are talking about incorporating ourselves so we can right more off and get better insurance.  Definitley a possibility.  She may start consulting and educating in the field she is in.  I\'m sure she will be fine.  This whole insurance thing though really sucks.

I didn\'t get a lawyer when I bought my house.  We toyed with it though.  THe owners were very cut and dry though and we just didn\'t think we\'d have any troubles.  Good luck to ya.

Makes me realize how easy my life is right now.

Getting married soon BUT no kid, no house, low rent, no real bills to speak of.

I\'m sure that will all change in the next year or so.

I love you Vid.

I really can\'t complain either.
I mean, I have two kids, but my rent is low and the only real bill we have is my car payment which isn\'t all that much ($230 a month) and insurance ($275! Yikes). Still, I make enough money to support us and have extra left over, not to count whatever Tasha brings in.

YEah.  They always say that no matter how much you make, you always have the same amount.

When I got out of college I made 18 grand.  I swear I had just as much spending money as I do now and I make quite a bit more.  It\'s just wierd.

WOW......no doubt..that is soo true..i never realized that until you mentioned it. i guess with every upgrade,..(raise on the job, car, house etc)...you tend to spend the same amount according to your income at that time.
