She had a scuffle with a security guard and she ignored his request. He reached out to grab her by the arm and when he did she struck him. They want to file a law suit stating that it was crime because she hit an officer.

And I think the whole *I knew she would say that* is that she is claiming it was because of her race...

Seriously, get over it. She should have not struck an officer regardless of how high she feels about herself.
Don\'t try to confuse me with what you call  facts, my mind is already made up.

Was there ever a link?  I\'m confused.  If it was edited out (without an \'edit\' left behind), then could you put it back or lock?  I could find out the story, but post a damn link when you talk about a current event.

I just was sitting at my computer and saw it on the daily show so I slapped the post together.   I had hoped most of you would have seen it on the news or would figure it out.  Obviously some of you weren\'t able so here ya go

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/03/mckinney.scuffle.ap/index.html

That link doesn\'t explain it completely, cnn has posted a couple articles.  She was asked to stop at a security checkpoint but refused and just kept going.  When the officer tried to grab her she turned around and struck him.  After the fact shes plays the race card. *gasp* surprise surprise  Jon Stewart summed it up quite well but I don\'t have a link to it.

Also, I think THX pieced it together.

Thanks.  It\'s just that asking every reader of a thread to spend even the 30-60 seconds it takes to find a specific story with a few hints is a lot of total time wasted when a poster can just post a link from where they are or find it ONCE in the same time.

As for what she did, if the story is accurate (and neither side seems to dispute the actual account much), then she should be charged.  Simply put, high-profile public figures entering such a secure location have no excuse for not understanding and tolerating security measures.  Even if she thought they were wrong to stop her to see her face, the correct route would have been to make a complaint or bring it up later, not turn around and hit a uniformed officer.

Yea, is it that hard to wear a pin stating who you are when you\'re supposed to?  I probably wouldn\'t have even cared but seeing her getting in front of the press to say it\'s because she\'s a "black, female congresswoman" aggrivated me.  I see the race card pulled every day, didn\'t expect it from someone that\'s supposed to be "educated".  Don\'t know why I\'m surprised.

Yea, from whats been said so far members of the black caucus pressured her to do this.  I don\'t buy into it at all.  You don\'t claim racism then sincerely say sorry a couple days later.
