This weekend I was with my girlfriend who likes scary movies and games so we sat down to play RE4 on Gamecube. And in doing that, I FINALLY got past the opening scene where you get the shotgun. She gave me the idea to toss a grenade at one point, and that did the trick. I wasted like 6 guys in one throw.

We made a ton of progress since then and now I\'m hooked. I\'m finally getting to see what the hype is about. I\'m heading for the church now, having just killed some giant alligator monster in the lake.

Its about time...

Actually, you already passed the church since you already fought Del Lago...

Enjoy the upcoming fights...

You have many, many more hours to go...

And thats just the main game...

Wait till you unlock the extras...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Resident Evil has never been my bag. I used a cheat code to get through the RE remake on Gamecube (infinite fire grenades hah) so this is the first one I\'m roughing alone. I have it set to Normal which intimidates me, but I have the hang of headshots and sometimes I shoot a leg and do a melee attack or whatever.

I dunno if I\'ll find the time to stick with it for the long haul, but I\'m glad I got to play some more of it. It was expensive when I bought it...

But the church, I don\'t think I ever found the round shaped key to go inside? That\'s why I ended up walking down to the lake... Unless I took a back way in or something, I forget.

I won\'t ruin it for you but you will come back to the church...

Keep going and you will find the key...

The worse thing about RE 4 is it is way too linear...

No need to really explore. Just go from Point A which will lead to to Point B which will lead you to C without going back to A...

...usually.

Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you. I don't care where you've  been or what you plan to do. I am the resurrection and I am the light. I  couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

Actually, this is something I\'ve been pleased with so far. I prefer linear games. And even as linear as it is, it seems long as hell. I\'m hours into it already, and only on the second chapter.

Expect to spend about 20-25 hours the first time through...

And you\'re only about 10-15% through...

Just finished FFXII, eh, not my favorite in the series by any stretch of the imagination.  Still fairly fun though.  I wish I would have bought Guitar Hero 2 instead.
Wrong. There are two other people who can.
Dark Lord Sith\'s.
Demon\'s named Phil.  -LIC

I beat RE4! And I know it was good game because I actually want to play through it again.

I may screw with it some more, but I\'m ready to get back to my Wii launch games that I still haven\'t given a fair shake. First up, Super Monkey Ball.

Congrats...

Time for Pro Mode...

What were your highlights/most difficult parts?

The first village was the most difficult part for me. My favorite scene was the first Krauser fight for sure. Very well done, unlike anything I\'ve played before.

I was satisfied to see my gun purchases pan out usefully and to see my ability improve when taking on groups and regenerators, etc.

In fact I had improved to the point where the final boss was pretty much a push over. Got him on my second try, I believe.

Very good game, though.

I\'m no RE vet (played through the first one quickly with a glitch for fire grenades) so a lot of the Wesker/Ada stuff went over my head. But other than that, I really liked it.

Play Mercenaries...

And Ada is from RE 2 so if you didn\'t play that, you wouldn\'t quite get the whole interaction between Leon and her...
