Use of portable music player dilema...
« on: April 14, 2006, 10:27:32 AM »
K i work at a supermarket stacking shelves on night shift, recently they enforced a new rule of no mp3 players which makes a 10 hour shift last a week. Any ideas on how to concleal an ipod and earphones?

We wear hats that can cover the ears since we work in the fridge bit of the supermarket, we thought that maybe we could stick the ipod in the hat but that looks incredibly stupid surprisngly, then wireless earphones...any inovative ideas?...and dont say get a part time job that doesnt suck :)

i saw something on how kids in school were getting away with it.

One chick had it on a belt thing under her shirt, had the wire under a sweatshirt and up to her ear..her hair covered the wire, so im not sure if whatever you wear would cover that.

This is what I would do (best results are with hooded sweatshirts). Put the mp3 player in your pocket. Next, run the wire under your shirt. Have it come out behind yoru collar and into your ears where your earflaps will cover the wire and the budded headphones (you can only use budded headphones for this. Others would make it obvious).

Eh.

Either get a new job or just be a man and hide it.
:D

We\'re not suppose to where I work, but most of us do. Then again, we don\'t even really hide it. Kinda like looking at porn at work - not suppose to, but everyone does.

Well personally as an adult, I would say that it\'s a liablity to have you wearing an IPod during stocking of shelves since you can\'t hear your surroundings.

So therefore you can be injured.

So therefore I would not allow you to listen to the music either.

And as long as you are willing to be fired, do what you want.

Plus the chance of a fire alarm or any kind of drill and you would not be aware of it.

I listen to my mp3 player at work but I don\'t hide it. I work in an office stuffing envelopes and whatnot. I keep the volume low so I can hear around me, other than that, my bosses don\'t care.

yeh, its not like its both earphones at full volume, we could easily hear the fire alarm, apparently it was a health and safety thing tho but i dont know why they are enforcing it now when they haven\'t cared for six months.

On getting another job, its possible, but not many jobs would let you work 10 hours a week for £7.50 (~$13) an hour so for the hours its probably worth keeping. Ah well, i guess the 5th harry potter audiobook will just have to wait til they dont care about it anymore...or i try the hooded idea 2nite...
