The point is, 500 dollars is ridiculous, it may not seem that way to someone like you, but the average person who makes up the majority of sales for the gaming industry is going to be reluctant about spending that type of money on a gaming system.

And you made a good point before MM, people are spending 500 dollars a week on gas, so where are they going to get another 500 for a video game system? Necessities such as gas and food come before games.

I\'m saving for a house. The only way I spend $600 for a game console is if I spend $1800 on game consoles, and flip two on eBay.

I tend to agree with you on this one. And, barring surprises with Super Mario Galaxy, it\'s the same thing with the Mario franchise lately.
 
At least with Mario they try to tweak core elements to offer something new, but Zelda is typically pretty retread. I can only stomach it once every few years. That\'s why I missed Majora\'s Mask the first time around.

I disagree, I think they only one they missed the mark on there is Wind Waker and that is due to the lenght and the whole sailing element.

$600 is some good change for just about anybody. I\'m all grown up and have grown up issues and pay for grown up things and it\'s not easy to say I\'m going to take $600 out of my budget for a game system. BUT . . . I\'m going to do it!

What does that have to do with anything I posted? Nothing. I asked Eik if anyone was taking Wii pre-orders yet. I couldn\'t care less about your personal opinion and how you\'d pay $1200 for a PS3 before a Nintendo product (even tho\' you are whining in another thread about the $600 price tag).

On another note  - is the PS3 goin to have a better build quality? There is no denying the fact that both the PSone and PS2 have had problems with disc read errors. I can\'t imagine paying $600 for something and it dying in no time (ala PS2). Infact, if the PS3 doesn\'t launch without any big mishaps , then they\'re screwed. That is one of the huge things that killed the Xbox 360  - price tag and techinal issues.
