Like I said, keep dreaming. You are not goin\' to see a 1,000 friggin\' cars in any game. Get a grip with reality and cost of development. This has nothing to do with the Wii, it has to do with being realistic and not being a blind fanboy.

GT4 has nearly 700,  and if I\'m not mistaken GT2 had more

No reason to expect Polyphony Digital to cut back on the number of cars they will put in the game.

mm says 1,000 cars aren\'t necessary,  but how about 100 tracks?  At gtplanet.net the wishlists for real world tracks goes past 100

Laugh all you want,  but the more they can cram in there the better

At first I expect the extra BR space to be used for CG etc,  but eventually game developers will use it in game.   You kinda remind me of what some CD guys may have said about DVDs,  that they would only be good for storing extra CG

like them,  you too will e wrong

The limitation that will prevent you from seeing 1,000 cars in a future GT game is NOT hard drive space.  It\'s developer time.  A few years back, the dev said the reason GT3 had fewer cars than GT2 was because they didn\'t have enough time to create that much content.  I expect the same will always be the case.  They can port data from older versions of GT, but as the standards change, there will always be human time required to create every new release.

Wow I guess you find reality very irritating, since that how real road courses operate.

That is exactly what I said earlier. It isn\'t a matter of space, it is a matter of development cost. The cost of a game is already outrageous, developers are not goin\' to up that cost by lisencing and developing 1000 cars. Clowd lives in a fantasy world, what can you say?

Considering that they actually take the time to learn how each car handles at a track and test drive them to refine the physics, I\'d doubt they\'d want to add another 500 or so obscure cars that not many people really care about.

Also, that would just break anyones budget.

edit

My new theme is what\'s up guys.

BR will be used for higher res textures and CG, that\'s about it. Also audio files, but your massive worlds and 1000 cars is a pipe dream, get over it.

Woah well EXCUSE me Mr. Videogame creation expert.  I will try and get over it,  if it is indeed true.  Sony propaganda says that some games,  like the upcoming Getaway PS3 will only be possible with blu-ray due to the complexity and size of the city.

Is that true ?

Companies say a lot of things. I remember when Sega said cel shading can only be done by the Dreamcast.

Yeah you\'ve got a point.  No reason why you\'d want a racing simulator to be um ... realistic.  Yeah, realism is irritating when it comes to simulators.  I thnk I\'m coming around to your point of view.  :p

....

Sony also promised you two HDMI ports and six USB ports.........

They also said the first Getaway would be the "GTA killer"......

...They also said the PS2 could do "toy story graphics"..........

Move along, troll.
