So? Its a problem only for a 10 year old cheaper version of a PS3( thats what sony ment by futureproof anyways=it will last for 10 years than just 5.). By 2010 costs will be lower and all PS3\'s might be sold with an HDMI. Also PS3\'s will all be much cheaper by then and will be able to do much more than just play movies so even then people will see value for the "core" PS3.
These news are great especially for an early adopter who is going to buy the cheaper one in November 2006. He will be using it for 10 years without a problem which is a long time.
I think this is the first time ever that I\'m agreeing with Unicron. We\'re forgetting that consoles change. They changed the PS2 numerous times and updated the hardware and software to make it better. I assume they are gonna do the same thing with this console. Who knows, they may even do away with the core system in a few years when the price drops and its cheaper to manufacture them.
I\'m just gonna bite the bullet and buy the premium console. I may not use everything but atleast I\'m prepared so then I don\'t have to buy the extras to make a core into a premium status console (wireless, bigger harddrive) and spend more. Or even eventually selling my core system to buy a premium when the price drops. Nah, I\'ll play it safe.
I agree with others, they should just sell the premium. You get what, HDMI (whihc the tv i\'m buying has the jacks so woot for me) and wireless (I\'m using a wireless network next year so double woot for me). For me, the premium will be worthwile.
