Well I don\'t think anyone mentally over 12 watches it.

Not bad, a wrestling thread lasted a few weeks before becoming insulting. Might be a record.

WWE is pulling the trigger and re-launching ECW as its own brand with a one hour Tuesday timeslot on SciFi.

Tommy Dreamer and Paul Heyman will be the writers for the show.

This cool to anyone else or are we an exclusively "wrestling is gay" crowd?

-Dan

Is it true that they are relaunching it after Smackdown went overboard with too much staged acts, too much shows and the likes and so they decided to replace it?

Heh, vid that one was honest, not insulting. :)

Uni - not quite. They\'re relaunching it as a separate brand to try to make more money.

It was a complete train wreck. Horrid, awful show.

Google "pwinsider" and go to the PWInsider Xtra site. Twenty pages of negative feedback.

They had no storylines, tons of WWE guys, squashed the entire ECW roster, debuted a Zombie and a Vampire, had almost no competitive in-ring action and debuted a stripper who couldn\'t unbutton her bra, try as she might. They taped in front of a silent Smackdown audience. No chants all night.

It was awful.

On the bright side, couldn\'t be any worse next Tuesday.

Awful as it may have been, something about Van Dam having the WWE title on one shoulder and the ECW title on the other still made me smile.

They were advertising ECW dates at smaller venues...are they gonna start giving ECW it\'s own tapings with its own fans?

They\'d better. I might go to the June 24 or July 4 (tv taping!) shows at the ECW Arena.

It\'s gonna be great telling Heyman he sold out. That\'ll be a weird dynamic heh.

Hopefully I can get tix. They go on sale for the 24th house show tomorrow.

Should be a better booked show (no tv) and in front of a passionate crowd.

If they start giving the show their own TV tapings in front of their own crowds, and actually let Heyman write what happens, I think it\'ll take off again.  I just hope they don\'t make it about the WWE wrestlers like Angle, Big Show, etc.  I really wish instead of them, they had brought wrestlers like Benoit, Mysterio, Foley, etc. back to ECW.

And as much as the first Tuesday night show sucked, there was something that really stuck with me about Heyman yelling "Rob!  Rob!  Cover him!" as he ran into the ring during the PPV.

They\'re cross promoting right now to get the brand on its feet, but that should stop. I wanted to add that the last episode, while not great, was a huge improvement.

A couple competitive matches and some new characters. The sports entertainment ga ga was reduced. They changed the lighting and camera work to create a more intimate feel. And the July 4 episode will be taped in Philly (moved to the Wachovia Center) which will hopefully do wonders for the crowd. They\'re only starting to catch on at the Smackdown tapings where this show is currently taped.

Sabu is the MVP so far, pulling out another great performance in the opening match against Tony Marmaluke. The main event tag was another good fight that was given a lot of time. This week, Kelly got her bra off and a former OVW wrestler Mike Knox came out to cover her up, to the disappointment of everyone, so hopefully that goes somewhere.

Big Show mauled Dreamer who had said he was like the gatekeeper for ECW. But at the end, Dreamer was pulling himself up with a smile on his face, so he\'ll be back to stand up against Show again.

Sandman continues to cane jobbers, but I think it might lead to the vampire dude (formerly Mordecia - blech) and maybe Gangrel coming in to give him a run for his money and start up another feud.

It\'s getting there.

heh heh i only saw a little bit of raw this week...who is this kane impersonator?....i caught the end where he was holding his old mask in his hands..i liked kane a little better with the mask,...kinda kept him mysterious....the match with rvd and cena was decent. rvd can really show off some of his martial arts ONLY if he\'s workin with the right people,..i\'ve seen him in plenty of matches were he is just takin\' care of the other wrestler waaay too much,...i mean his kicks and elbows would be just barley touchin his opponents, i mean i know all of the wrestlers hold back and take care of each-other to a point, but rvd is a little over the top...

but that could be because i\'ve heard that some of the wrestlers were complaining of being kicked in the mouth alot by him,...anyway, i was kinda mad at how they made edge come in and break up the match...i guess it was good in a way, because that drew alot of heat towards edge...the return of dx is meh(wack)...triple h and shawn micheals tryin to relive the glory days?....i\'m not feelin\' it, but the wwe crowd seems to go crazy for it...

and as fine as some of the women wrestlers are,..i just find myself turning the channel when they\'re on...they are just  plain horrible....

didn\'t see raw this week, but i did happen to catch some smackdown...glad to see batista is back...and he looks to be in great shape...another wrestler that i\'m startin to like even tho he\'s a little corny is mr. kennaday!...........kennaday!...:D..yo, this cat is too funny!...decent wresting skills too...i did notice tho that they changed his finisher move. he used to carry his opponents on his shoulders on the top turnbuckle then flip forward smashing them,...but i guess he got injured doin that, because he just recently came back from an injury,...i also like that group the bulldogs,...but jamie whatever his name is just looks :gfight: with those tights on,..yeah i know they all wear "em but his just look like panties or some s**t..weird...anyway just like boxing,..the cruiseweight wrestlers are far more exciting than the heavyweights...the king booker skit?...i think it\'s kinda weak,....a couple of years ago when he had a fued with christian, he was coming up strong with a chance for the intercontinental belt, but when he got injured, he kinda lost some momentum when he came back...

I pretty much agree with everything you just said.  If you like cruiserweights, I recommend taping (it\'s on late) and watching TNA wrestling. Thursdays on Spike and 11pm EST.

I just started doing that this week. It\'s only an hour but there\'s way more going on than a whole episode of Smackdown...
