Video game designer # 1 ? . I\'ve worked for Streamline Studio\'s on their Xbxo360 game for 3 months + 4,5 months for Eximion games.

The job is a love - hate thing.

- Not all, but..) it\'s one of the least financially reliable work. (example ; Lionhead recently ditched 40 ppl, just like that)

- Non paid overhours and not a few at that (The EA scandal)

- Consessions ! Alot of cool stuff or potential, on which programmer teams and art teams worked will often NOT make it into the final game. The damn publishers have too big a voice into core game content. Game developer\'s passion for the work get\'s \'circumcised\'.

Alot of ppl i talked to during my time admitted, \'off the record\', that a high percentage of ppl burn out after 2 to 5 years and exit the games industry.

yea no doubt,..i thought for sure IT would\'ve been in there somewhere, followed by some type of restauraunt franchise or chain...would\'ve never expected those jobs to be in the top 5...

Cheffing is a fucking shithouse job. Shit hours, shit money, shit family life,  no social life, no sporting life, lose all your friends due to when you/they are working. etc. etc.

Benefits: Can travel, can bang hot waitresses. But really, anyone can travel and bang chicks.

A good friend of mine is a chef here in NYC. He seems to have a normal social life and has a damn loft.
