You have that gun less than 6 inches from your ear. You aren\'t treating it like a loaded weapon that could accidentally discharge. At that distance, the bullet doesn\'t have to hit you to cause serious damage, whether from sound or heat.
Always treat a gun as if it is loaded
and could go off accidentally (they do, you know). You are clearly treating the gun in that photo without the respect a weapon of leathal ability deserves.

I don\'t generally have a problem with long gun ownership, for hunters/target shooters, but I do wish there were more restrictions worldwide on the manufacture and sale of handguns and \'military\' grade rifles (automatic, AP).
