Halloween movie recommendation
« on: October 20, 2006, 09:52:29 PM »
Just saw Silent Hill, and man.. it was 3x better than I thought it would be.  I did play the first game and it was insane how much the movie mirrored it.

It wasn\'t so much scary as it was freakish, but I thought they did it about as well as they could while keeping it entertaining to the end.

If you have a rec post it here :fro:

heh..yea i thought silent hill was good as well..they really caught the atmosphere of the game....good flick...i just rented a movie called stay alive which was better than i thought it would be...it dealt with a group of people playing a video game, but if you died in it, you die in real life...i know the plot sounds cheesy and it is but it really was better than i expected....only other horror joint to rent i\'d say would be the "Decent"....an all female cast trapped in a cavernous cave with bat-human looking creatures should make for a good blockbuster night....i thought it was an ok flick,..it kinda lost some steam when they kinda made one of the female characters develop a sense of bravado when fighting those things, when clearly anybody would\'ve been scared s**tless of \'em....meh a good rent tho....

if you can find a version of the UK dvd, cause i don\'t think the US one is out yet.

I highly highly reccomend picking up The Descent.  Best horror movie i\'ve seen in years.

*SPOILER*

Also clips, I wouldn\'t consider it Bravado. I dunno what ending you saw but the UK ending runs about 2 minutes longer than the US one and fits the movie so much better than the US one.

the Cole Hauser movie? can that be considered a movie?

The Cave was just...not even gonna bother with that one. I really enjoyed The Descent as far as modern horror movies go.

Only thing i\'ve seen of Argento\'s is Deep Red. I\'ll have to check Suspiria.

rent high tension...agh,.. this movie had such high potential but the director just screwed the ending up....if you can get over the loopholes that was all over the place in that movie, there is a decent flick to be found within....i mean you will really be like wtf?, but wasn\'t she?...and wasn\'t he?.....it seemed like nobody properly edited the movie before they released it...

Get "Monster House". It\'s that CG movie that came out a few months back.

Have a little kid watch it. He/she will be scared shitless. I garrantee it.

For me and the wife, we play the usual "Night of the Living Dead" and "Halloween".

Yes. They are old. But they are classic. If I can find it, I\'m gonna pick up "Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstien".
