All I can say, is that screw the High Def Era.  This looks like pure fun!

How many GHz is pure fun? I\'m skeptical.

Actually, I don\'t know what I\'m talking about.

after playing 360 in HI-def no way can I ever go back to SD resolution. Then again I hail from the pc world where all games are hi-def.

Seriously it would only have cost Nintendo a little more per chip to include more transistors to output in hi res, that a little more ram. What was Nintendo thinking not future proofing there system, the initial investment for them would have payed off in the long run big time.

Not sure about that. If that upgrade made Wii cost $300 or $250 it would have been a stupid idea. It wouldnt have paid off in the long run because the consumer would have made more direct comparisons between a $250-$300 Wii and a $300 360 and most likely 360 would have been the prefered choice.

nintendo is trying to prove that innovation can outdo pure muscle, and right now, I\'m with them... which is a far cry from say 2 months ago.

I\'m still waiting to get hands on before I decide.

I can see it being extremely accurate, and therefore really fun to play.  I can also see it being \'overly generous\' - so that your motion just sets off close approximation and a randomizer decides (strike, hit, foul, etc), which I wouldn\'t like.

I\'m hoping for the best, but prepared for dissapointment, since there are only a few games thus far that interest me.

Just because your a gamer doesnt mean you have to sound dorky lol

Videogames for me are a relaxing pastime/hobby whatever you want to call it.  Having to stand up to enjoy a game is a minus for me.  I like to sit back and relax as I play videogames.  Just me,  though.

Also, if I\'m going to get up and swing the controller like a bat or racket I might as well go outside and do the real thing.  I\'m only looking forward to using the remote on games like Zelda,  Stars Wars or Mario,  games that allow you to do things you can\'t do in real life.  I can go outside and swing a bat or go down the street and bowl,  but I can\'t have a lightsaber duel or shoot an arrow at a flying dinosaur while on horseback outside lol

I\'ll get Wii around the first price drop

There have been people, I read, who would serve an imaginary ball with their left hand to hit it with the remote in their right hand.

And that worked in the game.

As for the accuracy, it looks like it depends on the developer. It sounds like baseball is very forgiving, but tennis senses a lot of accuracy, picking up the exact angle of impact and adjusting the ball\'s trajectory.

Same with bowling, the developer said some people could get into a groove, but no one who had play tested had yet scored a perfect game.

It\'s a nice little presentation of what you can do with the Wii-mote, but the constant giggling and cheering from the players is a little over the top! Then again, maybe I\'ll giggle like a schoolgirl too when I first fire up Wii Sports!

That giggling is probably a combination of those people having fun and those people having nervous laughter from being isolated in a weird clean room and video taped.
