the difference is that spending 600 in one go would hurt.

spending the 400 and then getting my bank account back up and spending the next 200 doesnt feel that badly.

But im not that picky about having it built in the system like most people probably are.

either way..the systems are going to be the same. By the time games are using the blu-ray technology, xbox will probably be making HD-dvd games, or the ps3 will drop price.

I think HD-DVD 360 games are out of the question. It wil force the millions who will already have a stand alone 360 buy an HD-DVD to play certain games, and not to mention that some wouldnt even bother. So devs wont risk making games for it that may not sell just because people wont get an HD-DVD

i agree, like history have shown.  Add-on won\'t sell that well.  So, I doubt there will be any developers bother trying to make games in HD-DVD format for XBOX360 since it requires add-on HD-DVD drive in order to play, and consumers are more than likely won\'t bother going to spend the extra $200 just to play a game tin HD-DVD disc format.

So that\'s why built in are much more preferable.  Plus, Blu Ray are better since it can hold more storage and more layers than HD-DVD.  Don\'t forget both PS3 models ($500 and $600) have HDMI v1.3 ouput where XBOX360 lacks.

Don\'t even get me started on Nintendo DS. You need to buy a tv, a Blu-Ray player, PS3 controllers, broadband internet access, a new sofa and food to sustain yourself while playing it. That\'s just as expensive as a PS3.

I can\'t honestly see anyone buying the wii with the DVD playback feature.  If they do, they should be drug out into the street and shot.
