And what\'s worse - and this is so unlike Nintendo - is that it has stuck me with some menial objective (get a cat) and no instruction as to how.
That\'s very much like in other Zelda games, actually. In Ocarina of Time after being sent forward in time seven whole years you were told to go to Kakariko village. That\'s it. You had to figure out on your own what exactly you were supposed to do there (figure out that Dampe had died, go to the graveyard, figure out that you could move the gravestones with flowers above them, find Dampe in the cave below his grave and race him for the hookshot (which you needed to get into the Forest Temple)).
And there were times when you weren\'t even told where you were supposed to go. Zelda\'s all about exploration, it\'s one of the series\' staples (sp?).
And the solution to the cat puzzle, in case you haven\'t figured it out yet, is to find the monkey with the cradle (down the river, up on a big rock). Call a hawk and send it at the monkey to get the cradle. Give the cradle to the pregnant lady to get the fishing pole, then go to where the cat is and do some fishing. Give the cat a fish and then you can finally buy the slingshot.
And by the way, all Zelda games have a slow start. It\'ll get much more exciting and fun later on.
