Hey Evi, I don\'t think Carl Zeiss lenses are necessary. I mean sure if you\'re Bill Gates, then go right ahead, but for us mere mortals it\'s not worth it. Actually, it\'s the same with the camera. A bit overkill.
Besides, you\'re new to photography? You can get a great camera for much less and some good Nikon lenses as well, if that\'s the brand you like. Since tech moves so fast your camera is going to feel old in just a few years, where as good lenses will last for decades. So it\'s better to spend more money on lenses vs. camera, since the 3000+ dollars you spend on a camera today, will be worth like 1000 dollars in a few years, where better cams are available. So I suggest you spend about 1000-1500 on a camera, nothing more (unless you\'re a pro who needs the extra speed or whatever).
If I were in your shoes I\'d get a Nikon D80 + some good lenses (be sure to read lots of reviews on lenses since they can differ quite a bit in quality, however it\'s relatively easy to get some nice ones).
Personally I\'m a Canon guy so I\'d go for a Canon 400D (or XTi or whatever it\'s called over there).
