Uh, more spider troubles.
« on: June 02, 2007, 02:25:26 AM »
Dont know if you remember my thread from last year about the (for sweden) huge crushed spider?

Well, today we noticed some more friends, lots of them.. on my parents lawn furniture. :(

They were taken care of thanks to Radar Spider spray.

Now, lets hope their mother does not take revenge. :D

the spiders we get in the uk are generally solitary, we don\'t see shit loads of them like that.

I\'m more than happy to leave any spiders I find in my rooms where they are, as long as they stay in the corner of the ceiling, I\'m ok with it.

As soon as they start crawling down the walls, they get scooped up and thrown over the neighbours wall.

Spiders are a bit gross, but in large groups, they are friggin\' nasty. I should\'ve taken a pick of this huge friggin\' garden spider that bit me in my sleep...9 times. I woke up and saw these giant red marks all over my leg. I thought I had come down with some illness or something, because they stayed there for like 2 months. I finally found the sucker that bit me...it was like a 2-3 inch garden spider. When the exterminator came to our house, it ran out from its hiding place and skurried about the carpet. It didn\'t die when the exterminator sprayed it. In fact...it let out this squealing noise, which was creepy. Took about 5-6 sprays to kill the thing. Yuck.

I found out what type of spider those were!

Species Argiope aurantia - Black & Yellow Argiope

look familiar?

Despite bright colors this spider is not a danger to humans. It is very unlikely to bite unless severely provoked, and in that case the bite would be probably no worse than a bee sting.

Thanks JBean.. :thumb:

Ugh.. I wonder how big they are once they are fully grown?

If there is one creature I wish could be deported to the moon, it would be the spider.
