Problem... Network Setup through 2 routers.

I have this problem.  I have 2 routers in series to connect to my pc.
Basically this is my setup.    Internet > ADSL/ROUTER > WIRELESS ROUTER  > MY PC.  

The problem is, i can connect to the net and connect wireless devices to the net through the wireless router.  But i can\'t see other peoples pcs in the network. Basically i can\'t share files with other pcs.

Any help would be great.

yep, i don\'t have any enabled firewalls on all the pcs. The routers have inbuilt firewalls.  I\'m trying to share files through workgroups like you\'ve shown.

I think it has to do with setting up routes in the routers. But i\'m not sure how to configure them.

i might be totally off base, but i have to open up ports in my router, so maybe there\'s a manual or somewhere online with your routers and a list of ports that you can open

its a routing problem, not sure how to fix it.  The ports forwarding is working fine, i can do everything on the net.. use chat programs, browse the net, use azureus etc.  I just can\'t view other peoples pcs in "my network places"

i might just try the 2nd lan port on my pc and bridge the 2 ports then connect that second port to my router.

it doesn\'t give me any errors. The other pcs aren\'t even visable on the workgroup.   If i try to use a old shortcut link it basically says "The network path was not found"

i\'ve tried disabling nat, dhcp, changing the wireless routers ip to a similar one to the main router.. etc.   nothing seems to be working

we\'ve basically all got the same workgroup, and just setup folders in our computers to share under the folder properties.  everything worked fine, until i added this router.

Make sure the wireless router is set up as a gateway, as opposed to a router.  It\'s usually in setup->advanced options, but it depends on the brand your wireless router is.  You will end up with a router and then a wireless hub/switch.

Basically, you have to set the wireless router up with a static IP (like 192.168.1.5) and make it\'s default gateway your other router (192.168.1.1).  Enable DHCP on the wired router (unless you feel like assigning all your IPs) and disable on the wireless.

This Guy has some other ideas/explanations.  I don\'t like the way he does it, but it probably works.

I still always go for non DHCP setups, once you get this working it\'ll be nice and stable.

problem with disabling dhcp you basically stop teh function of the wireless. It won\'t assign an ip to any wireless products. I can\'t assign a ip to a mac address with this router.. So i\'m still stuck, disabling dhcp basically makes teh wireless router a "dumb" router.   I want it to have wireless fuctions that work.
