Yeah.  I have a really nicve tv, but it was before the whole HDCP crap so I don\'t think HD will even play through the HDMI cable.  That\'s ok.  I\'ll just have an excuse to buy a new tv.

I think thats a problem for a lot of people.  400 bucks for a console PLUS a new TV is just too much to play video games.  At least for a broke ass college student.

Yes it does play on older TVs, but people think that\'s an excuse not to get a PS3 is because they think they need a new TV for some reason. No, it won\'t be HD, but yes...you can still play the games. Xbox 360 also plays games in HD. I don\'t see people making that excuse for it.

Of course...Blu-ray is pointless without an HDTV, but the console shouldn\'t be the thing to blame because you don\'t have an HDTV yet.

The console isn\'t a problem, but why would I buy a next-gen console (outside of the wii) when I have a 19 inch TV from 1992.  The only thing next-gen about the current set of games are the graphics which I\'ll barely see.  Its like buying a badass Computer but having a monitor that only supports 640x480 resolution.

And i\'m referring to both the 360 and the PS3.

from experience, my 360 looked like shit on my old tv. luckily i had my computer monitor before i got my hdtv, so i had a reason to still get one. turned out looking really good on my monitor
