What is it with black people & pit bulls? The black family on the corner near my house has little kids everywhere, and I saw yesterday that they now have a pit bull. What in the world are they thinking? "oh this pit bull won\'t randomly snap and kill my kids"?

I swear if that thing ever wanders into my yard, he\'s getting popped.

It depends on how you treat the dog, I\'ve got a friend that has 3 pits and they are the nicest dogs in the world. I in fact wouldn\'t mind having one when I get a house. But that may change if I have a kid as I agree having them around young kids to me seems a little dangerous as they can be a little rough at times and around kids that may be a little too dangerous.

These dogs that attack people are typically abused and or trained to be this way.

there\'s more to it. Pit bulls can do some serious damage no matter how trained they are.

You have a dog so im sure you\'ve accidently done this, but with my lab, hed be sleeping and i go to pet him and i end up scaring the shit out of him. All he does is pop up really fast with a confused/worried/hilarious face and starts wagging his tail a mile a minute. Had he been a pit bull, i probably wouldnt have 2 hands right now

You\'re making assumptions. It really does come down to the owner and not the dog.

dangerous dogs with kids is NEVER a good idea, I don\'t care how well trained it is.  Little kids don\'t know any better and have a tendency to do things to a dog that will make it bite on instinct (pull its tail, do other random stupid shit to it).  Unless you have the most docile dog in the world, you never know what might happen.

There\'s almost danger with any dog, I have a blue healer who was pretty tame but if you fucked with him you\'d get snipped at. We had a kid stick her hand in our fence, guess what happened? She deserved it though, teasing or screwing with a dogs backyard is not cool . I\'ve never had a situation with any of my friends pits where I felt threatened or endangered.

He won\'t be fined, he will serve time. Remember, these are federal charges and he is going against one of the roughest judges in the country. The chances of him getting out of this are very slim.  You must also take in account that Vick himself, has been in and out of trouble for a few years now, this may just be the final straw.

Then again, who is surprised? One only had to look at his little brother, Marcus Vick, to see what kind of thug he is. If that didn\'t do it for you, then look at his flipping off the crowd numerous times.

With all that said, one can sum up the Falcon\'s season with this quote, taken from ESPN.

"The Atlanta Falcons hired Bobby Petrino because they thought he could turn Michael Vick into a complete quarterback. They signed Joey Harrington merely to serve as No. 7\'s backup."

The best thing for them to do now, is realize they have a lost season, look forward to the draft and let Petrino pick up the excellent Brian Brohm fro Louisville, KY. There is no way Harrington can lead this time, Vick most likely won\'t be back. Look to the future.

maybe this person saw more than i did on tv, but what i did see on tv was black and white folk supportin\' Vick, while i honestly must say that while i didn\'t see any afri. americans on the animal rights side, i\'m sure some were there, they even interviewed some afri americans that didn\'t support Vick, so they "the media" really need to give this thing a rest....One thing i will say is that those animal lovers need to get rid of those signs calling for vicks death and s**t like that.....they want to protest? they need to see how they slaughter those cows that are used to make big macs and whoppers that i\'m sure alot of them eat on a daily basis...
