Awesome. I love the new gameplay changes :thumb: ; both Splinter Cell influences and and a bit of Gears of War over the shoulder cam. Plus, you can play the entire game in first person if you wish to.

looks amazing. Definitly leaning towards getting a ps3 when this comes out now.

I was iffy before since everything was cinematic but gad damn.

enemy AI showed signed of iffy-ness but that might be just to make sure the gameplay doesnt go awry (sp) when trying to present it (like at 3:40ish and the guy before him)

As good as MGS4 might be, it\'s not worth forking out all that cash for a ps3 in order to play one game.

By the way how come the character animation when he zooms in on the solders in the far looks amazing, yet when they approach him while he camouflages beside the statue the soldier\'s character animation become less impressive.

I prefer to wait untill the PS3 has an array of quality games before I go out and have to buy into-blu-ray. Either the price goes down, or it\'s library expand with quality. No question that when this game is released it\'s going to move a good number of units.

I wonder is MGS4 in native 1080P or is it a 720P game, cause I would love to fire that puppy up here on my 30inch PC LCD.

well, the threadtitle is exaggerating it a bit, but i don\'t many will disagree that MGS4\'s a \'system seller\' with this new gameplay trailer.

Don\'t forget, the Ico team guys are working on two PS3 games and Silent Hill 5 will probably debut on PS3 as well.

Don\'t get me wrong, i won\'t buy a PS3 before MGS4 releases.

i was kinda skeptical about metal gears gameplay, but they are doing a superb job with it so far, and it looks incredible....this game is sure to be a system mover...:fro:

To be honest, this is the second reason for my PS3 purchase.

First was the awesome Blu-Ray player. Though I do have Motorstorm and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Two stellar PS3 games, I\'d say.

i forgot about ninja gaiden (i didnt have an xbox so i never played ninja gaiden)

between that, motorstorm, lair, mgs, and gt4, its definitly a solid system. the downside is that 3 of those 5 titles arent released yet...and its going to be a while till gt4 and mgs is out.

this fall is going to be bad ass for games, so even though i want a ps3 now, by the time its the end of august ill be too busy playing the handful of games coming out..which excludes halo since im not buying it

I don\'t think one can count Silent Hill 5 as a system seller, not after the last few .  It still should be a good game.

While I am not a fan of the MGS series, this one does look good. System seller? Maybe, I have a hard time believing any one game can be a system seller with the prices of system\'s now\'a\'days. However, if one game can do it, this would be it.

Also, Ninja Gaiden most certainly does not count. It\'s a revisited rehash of a great Xbox game. How can that count? Sure, the graphics will be improved, new area\'s will be added, but it is still a rehash.

With all that said, we all know the only true reason to buy a PS3 right now is the fact it is the cheapest priced Blu Ray player on the market. I already own an HD DVD player, but if the PS3 dropped in price just a tad more, I would certainly jump in and buy it , just so I could have a Blu Ray player also.

Looks kind of easy. I\'ll just camo myself to look like that elephant\'s ass and no one will see me! Waha! Use Snake to look around corners...or just 360 the camera to see everything.

We all know the real reason we\'ll be playing this...shooting guards in the ass. Although they added a lot of neat little things like jumping down from walls and using a lot of the environments. Looks like they are borrowing from RE4 controls which is really the best way to go for this game. Looks like the kind of game I\'d play for a week straight...beat it...forget about it...play it for 3 days straight...beat it...and never play it again. Like all the other MGS\'s.

FPS mode looks sub par.

No way you can over look these exclusive 2008 PS3 games: MGS 4, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Final Fantasy XIII & vs XIII and Gran Turismo 5.

Don\'t be surprised to see every single one of those games go for Game of the Year honors.

On top of that Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden, Heavnely Sword, GT5:P and Ratchet and Clank will already be in the stores.  Twisted Metal for PS3 is also rumored to be in development.  Oh yeah,  there is that thing called \'Home\'

Like some guy from Square said, PS3 sales will take off in 2008,  especially the more popular Nintendo Wii has little to nothing to show for 2008.

everyone knows the ps3 is going to pick up steam at some point. it\'s right now that it\'s taking the heat.

and i waited for gears of war to get the 360. kind of before because i had madden 07 and burnout as my only games for a bit.

i cant wait till the ps3 is worth getting, but right now im loving the 360 this fall/winter. assassins creed, army of two, (ace combat), call of duty 4, (mass effect), GTA, nhl 08, fifa 08, quake wars, brothers in arms, mercenaries 2. and the decent/rentable ones like bioshock, medal of honor, area 51. A lot of those are on ps3, so good for their library as well but still no incentive to get one if you have a 360
