..So, it\'s 30FPS and not 1080P.

Gotcha.

Oh, I\'m not complaining, I was just summing up the thread, as there was some confusion on exactly what resolution and frame rates are expected.

30fps with motion blur > 60fps without motion blur

Without motion blur, you move your eye, the images look choppy. There was a website about this debate.

Not really true....

it\'s all about frame drops. Inconsistent 60fps has a choppy feeling to it. No motion blur in the world which can really fix framerate fluctuations.

a solid locked framerate > frame drop.

No, trust me on this. I gotta find the website. Maybe tomorrow.

Heavenly Sword really is a title which must be played to be believed !

Review! Total  9.7 !

http://www.nextgenireland.com/hsword.html

Quote

The game will launch you into Nariko’s family home under siege by evil forces commanded by King Bohan which by the way is the nastiest villain you will ever come across. He is also accompanied by his inept son Roach. There is a huge plot twist in the opening cinematic which we will not spoil for anyone, but he helps determine how the game will be played through to the end. Just be prepared to totally abandon your life, friends and work, because Heavenly Sword will have you enthralled and totally hooked from beginning to end. The game itself is absolutely huge and completing it is no mean fete.

Graphically Heavenly Sword is stunning as already touched upon earlier but the audio presentation is something to behold. Apparently Sony managed to cram more than 10 gigabites for audio material in Heavenly Sword and we can easily see that’s the truth. From character speech right through to dramatic scores, this is what audio is all about. Battle music will leave you breathless and the voice acting alone is simply the best we have come across in years. Capcom take note. No more dodgy Resident Evil acting please.

Must Have for me ! :)
He has the power of both worlds
Girl: What power… beyond my expectations?
AND IT\'S PERSONAL
Demon: No… the legendary Sparda!?
Dante: You\'re right, but I\'m his son Dante!

Must be me then, I tried the demo out and can say I was not impressed in the least. The animation seemed jerky and the gameplay was stale. Still, that was a demo and a lot of times demo\'s are reworked by the time the final build is done.

^^^that was one of my concerns about this game as well....(the jerky gameplay)....and it seems ign wasn\'t very happy with the overall game...

i think the score is a bit low, but i\'ll have to reserve judgement until i\'ve played the game myself...

Thats just one review btw. All other reviews so far from various magazines and sites are 8/10 and above. Excluding EDGE which reviews games differently.

IGN so far is probably the exception. The game doesnt seem to be of the reviewer\'s taste

I just purchaed this used, and while i do like some of the fighting mechanics, the siaxis gameplay kills it for me....it can be incredibly frustrating at times...to the point to where it\'s not even fun...idk...in my younger years i probably would\'ve manned up and keep this game regardless of the frustration level, but today i won\'t tolerate any game that is incredibly frustrating.

And both sony and ms has plans for motion controls?...geez stop riding the wii\'s dick and show some integrity and backbone by sticking to what works for you and your audience.....Seriously heavenly sword could be a brilliant experience without that siaxis garbage.....i haven\'t finished the game yet, but i\'m sure i\'m going to trade it in when i\'m done with it...shame really too.... graphics are pretty solid and the cutscenes are done really well, and some of the dialogue is actually funny....aggh!!.. i just can\'t get over that damn siaxis!!!...

i HATED it on the first mission you have to use it. it has a learning curve and the enemies are too close for you to get used to it. But it ends pretty shortly and once you get used to shooting the arrows its actually kind of fun. The next main part that uses it gives you a bunch of room between you and the bad guys so it\'s more forgiving

but i completely agree with the motion sensor shit..it\'s such a fad like 3d. As long as the games I want to play dont focus on it ill be fine, but even killzone\'s use of it gets borderline too much and all you do there is twist levers and arm c4\'s

the only thing that killed HS for me was how short the game was and no real incentive to go over it twice

I had an easy time with the sixasis.

Clips,

First,  the option to wimp out and use a thumb stick instead of the sixaxis has been available for this game since day one. However there are a few tips though that could possibly help to turn sixaxis frustration into joy:

Aim well before you fire. I found the temptation at first is to quickly fire off rounds and steer towards the desired target. It’s called “after touch” for a reason, works much better to make minor adjustments only.

Keep the controller level whenever you fire off a round. Not much use aiming  if you automatically need to make adjustments because you’re holding the controller slightly cockeyed. For me this is the number one reason the sixaxis is broken. I\'ve found no natural way to play and feel the controller is positioned properly when need be, barring that , I welcome the added dimension motion controls offer.  In fact Heavenly Sword’s arrow/cannonball riding, for a few brief spurts at least , were for me some of  the best  gaming moments I’ve ever experienced. Ah well, to each his own.

Also one thing I didn’t realize until I watched my wife or one of my daughters play, in close quarters Kia’s weapon is much more effective used as a straight-up gun , no slow-mo arrow riding required.
