all im gonna say is wow you sure shoot yourself in the foot with that statement... i seem to recall plenty of ps3 discussions in console debate where you chimed ur 2 cents on even assasins creed before you "owned the system"

on the topic of 360 > ps3 in ported games, i would think atm the blame falls on both sony for making hard to develop hardware and the devs - but imo publishers want to release the game at sametime - and with their experience on 360 from earlier release and the easier to make games for - its not surprise that some games are slightly better looking on 360 if at all - imo i think its pretty minimal differences and its doesnt matter unless you want to feel better about buying the console you bought. other then that its a void argument just play the damn game lol

You\'re right, it doesn\'t make a difference as the differences are so small it\'s not a big deal. I never debated the quality of ports over one or the other, with a preference from the other either. One can talk about a console without owning it, but you can\'t be a fan of the console and prefer it without owning it. How could you? He does nothing but sit around here, post about how great it is and doesn\'t even own one. Just like he whines about the 360 and doesn\'t own one.

you not seeing the irony in your constant replies. if it wasnt getting under your skin, and if you didnt care, (even a little) you wouldnt have replied to every single post of his. plus, if its a waste of time to type out his post, what is it when you read it?

Or the fact that he went out of his way originally to call my post out and do nothing but troll? He wasn\'t even posting in this thread much , until he found a spot to troll. But yeah, it\'s a "waste of time".

I think I\'ll buy Conan this week.

Ain\'t gonna happen. If the demo can\'t sell me, then I can\'t be bothered to play the full version. That is the developers fault.

As for Conan, if you can find it cheap. Get it, it\'s a mindless slasher, with boobies galore.

Btw I never whined about the 360 nor did I post about how much better one console is over the other (PS3 or 360).

You are really shooting on your own foot here. Really.

I guess I should of broke it down even more, for someone as dumb as you.

You can sit here and discuss a console, but to defend it and be a fan of it without owning it is simply absurd. You have not invested any time or money into the console, so you\'re just being a biased fanboy when you defend it constantly.

Don\'t think I could make it any simpler, but as dumb as you are, I\'m sure it still went way over your head.

Minus the fact I own a PS3 and 360.

Yeah, gotcha.

Or the fact when I defended the 360, I actually owned one.

Or the fact that any negative post I made about the PS3 was about stuff proven, such the price tag.

You = Fail.

Doesn\'t work that way.
I don\'t care if my opinion is popular or not. I happened to dislike the demo for Uncharted and due to that, I am not going to invest any more time into the game. It is the developers job to make a demo that appeals to people and gives people the best first impression of a game. Naughty Dog failed to do this and it is obvious, due to the fact that everyone says not to judge the game by the demo.

It\'s like a movie trailer, if I watch a trailer and the movie looks painfully boring, then you can\'t expect me to invest two hours of my life into something that has no appeal to me what so ever. Even if the movie turns out to be great, in which case, it was the studio\'s fault for letting out such a piss-poor trailer.

Want another game that falls into this catergory? Devil may Cry 4. I have downloaded both versions and both versions are painfully boring. There is not a single thing about the demo I can say I enjoy and due to this, I won\'t bother with the full game.

at least with movies, if you don\'t like the trailer, and didn\'t watch it in theater.  You can later rent it on DVD at a much cheaper price and watch it later.  The biggest difference is that DVD movies are usually about 2 hours long while playing a game is much longer than that.  As long as 20+ hours or longer for a first time.  Than there is the replay value.

Raz,

would you consider buying if it goes on sale for $20 when it become greatest hits?

That has happened to me.. I see a trailer, Stardust for example. Looks pretty gay, I go "blah! Skip!".
Then my friend* happens to give me the HD-DVD rip of the movie, and because I have nothing better to do (its christmas) I watch it, and wow, the movie is not at all like the shitty trailer made it out to be. I actually like the film!

So be aware, you can miss out on good things if you pre-judge something too quickly. Now there are things you know you\'ll hate from the get-go if its really far out of your usual "taste range", but thats something different.

You only helped my point, why spend 20 hours on something that does not appeal to me?

And I see your point, Faston, I do.  First off, Uncharted is out of my normal taste range, as you put it, but with that said, the demo just did not appeal to me. I won\'t get started on the animation, other than to me, it looked stiff. On the other hand, a game that is panned, I enjoy immensely (Conan). Everyone has different tastes when it comes to games. Now\'a\'days, I want something simple. I have been enjoying platformers such as R&C and slashes such as Conan. Stuff that I can pick up, play, turn off and be done with it. Right now I am giving serious thought to buying Heavenly Sword, but not sure I want to spend $60 bucks on a game.

Get it used.

I loved the Conan demo. But I like most mindless hack n slash games.

Uh, OK.
YOU found a game without screen tearing, yet there is plenty of screen tearing in other games.

You can see screen tearing in Uncharted, but overall the game is beautiful, the environments, textures, lighting, the water, everything seems alive, the animations(I know you don\'t like)...the system collision(just shoot someone, and if he falls down to some little stones with his arm on the stone, the position of the arm on it is natural as "real life", its position, the way the arm and the hand lie on the stone...it\'s incredible, I just noticed some more little details today after finished the game 2 times and now the 3rd time at the hardest level)
So, don\'t concentrate on one single flaw, just see all the game, in general...

Quote

Honestly, I\'m not sure you have a point. You sit and bitch about a developer being crappy, due to the fact their PS3 versions don\'t surpass the 360, you get called on that and then you just sit around backtracking.

Just disregard the word crap and crappy, I was overdoing...
My point is some developers are already pushing a bit PS3, and in the 1st gen is something "reserved" to 1st party or very talented 3rd party who actually had some time to spend on the new hardware(look at Burnout Paradise, COD4, DMC4)

Quote
So was Sega with the Saturn . Doesn\'t change anything tho\'. If you make a system that no one can develop for, you\'re helping the competition, when it comes to third party titles.

You\'re helping the competition a bit just the first year, then the good developers will get used more and more with the more complex/powerful hardware and we\'ll see better things year by year...remember that the final verdict will be in 2012-2013, not now...and I\'m confident that PS3 will do very very well, starting from now, first and third party games ! Peace :)
