well the problem could be ppl are using the 360 first when capturing and leaving the settings they had preferred on that console aka brightening the picture since most times 360 image is darker aka oblivion!!! and therefore when they hook up ps3 it become washed out!!! see i figured it out

/sarcasm

really i still go on arguement of who cares - if you need comparisons to make yourself reassured that your console is better then this one then go for it.., the whole console wars is so childish now

Sublime,

interesting points there, but i doubt it because those footages look like it was captured and edited by Capcom themeselves and probably sent it to GT.  I doubt GT can actually do split screen of the two console versions of the game of the exact same scene in motion...you know, splitting half top or half left of this exact scene for ps3 while half bottom or half right of this exact same scene for xbox360.

It would makes sense that Capcom did the comparison since they developed and programmed the game, and since the game isn\'t finished  yet for release.  I doubt GT has the game already to even capture it and do a side by side comparison...

so, that might means the comparison should be really fair...

capcom wouldnt touch something liek that with a 10 foot poll. having a comparison could make one of the two look worse, and they wouldnt make their own product look bad in any shape, way or form. to them, both products are identical and perfect (as in how they want the public to look at it)

GT is a pretty big website that can hire some skilled people. It wouldnt be TOO difficult to play a game twice as similarly as possible and do some editing. Plus theyve done it for a bunch of games..not just one company\'s

It is already known that you need someone that doesnt diss the PS3, like me to add some amusement in your life.

Nah Gametrailers does this accurate capturing with many other games as well.

Anyways. I downloaded the 720p video, print screened it at full size and cut proportions. They are identical even to the slightest detail except in very few occasions where the 360 looks better and in some others the PS3 (I was confused at which was which until I watched again the video) but this should be most likely capture inconsistencies and a few differences in colors and blurring effects.

Its a known fact that PS3s component output is more neutral (will look more washed out) compared to 360s component output. Not something you cant fix with a proper calibration of your TV (and if you have a proper HDTV you shouldnt have a problem with having different settings on different connections), so the point really isnt a point at all.

Try jumping between component and HDMI with your PS3 on the same TV with the same settings. PS3 via component will look a bit more washed out while the HDMI-output is a perfect RGB24 picture.

Regarding the comparison. Gametrailers first captured each stream seperatly, these streams are of course encoded. Its possible they used different settings while encoding these seperate streams. This might explain the loss in detail in some scenes, I havent checked it out msyelf but I will now.

Anything at all to avoid the more likely of all things.

Even better is the fact you both are going out of your way to prove the PS3 version looks better or that the comparison is faulty, even when they both look friggin gorgeous.

I mean, if you want to compare something, compare something already out..

Virtua Fighter 5
Assassin\'s Creed

This digging around and editing screen captures and trying to prove that a reputable gamesite is pulling a shady one is just nonsense.

Eh, the versions are identical apart from frameloss and screentearing on the 360-version. There is no other difference, check the pics.

Was mostly speaking to Uni.

With that said - DMC was merely OKAY, DMC2 sucked beyond belief and DMC3 was okay. Here\'s hoping that improve upon a flawed formula.

Here you go. I promise, no Sony bullshot filter has been applied!

Open the pics in different tabs, switch between them and see the massive massive difference.

http://pici.se/pictures/cXNaXISrP.png

http://pici.se/pictures/ryYAjblSp.png

This was the only part of the video which was comparible.

*They were both semi-static
*360 version shown first, PS3 version directly after
*Little motion = no pixelation
*The video is rubbish, the bitrate is far too low to even make it a worthwhile comparison

All in all, DMC4 will rock whichever version you get. Gametrailers need to step up their comparison videos. :)

Or do away with the comparison altogether.

WTF? Nobody tried to convince that the PS3 looks better. The only think we said is that DMC4 is identical.

But thats the problem with trolls like you. They assume too much when someone doesnt diss the platform they dislike
