i remembered THX made a thread about Christmas lights on the house synchronized to music back in 2005.

My sister and her family doesn\'t celebrate the holidays either, they\'re jehova witnesses as well,...about a year and a half ago i tried to get into it, but it just seemed like that jehova witnesses (and i\'m not tryin to knock them) just like to hang around other witnesses...if you\'re not in the click, they seem like that they don\'t really want to associate with you,....i respect their religion, but i kinda had to let it go when i told them that i still liked to celebrate birthdays, and christmas,...so i kinda just stopped doin\' that and practiced my original faith..

I\'m not the most religious guy on the planet,....but i believe in god and most everything that falls in line after that, but i won\'t try to force anything on you,...i still like to party every now and then, drink, hang out with friends and family...i admit i get caught up in the commercial aspect of christmas but that\'s only because i choose to and i like to see my youngest daughter get all amped for santa every year(my older kids already know the deal) but i always tell my kids what the true meaning of christmas is supposed to be about....

I only know of like 3 Witnesses and about 5 former Witnesses.

So my view is biased against them.

One that worked here was a purist. He never accepted any kind of gift, even if it was just for a commemorative one for doing special jobs for IT (like Y2K, mass upgrade from Windows 95 to XP). He\'d always throw away mugs, t-shirts and plaques from work. He only accepted certificates.

He was a normal guy until holidays and religion is brought up by our lunch crew. I bet Raz is like that.

I don\'t like them. Period.

I accept gifts if bought, but I make it clear what I don\'t believe and that I don\'t buy them. I\'m not as rude to not accept a gift that someone bought me, even if it\'s a piece of crap. It\'s only respectful to accept it and say thank you.

Thank you. When they come to my door, I can\'t get them to leave. I\'m like "i\'m happy with my beliefs now please get the fuck out of here" (well, that\'s what I\'m thinking. I\'m a bit more polite than that ) and they\'re like "read this pamphlet and it\'ll save your life". I take the pamphlets and read them for a good laugh.
