I\'d take a good projector over any plasma, LCD or any other TV (at least for movies). :)

well if that projector doesn\'t use lamp light, then it probably a really good option.  Like LED or laser projector, but those tech are still in their infancy and the black level is still not there yet.  Actually, laser hasn\'t come out yet, but I wouldn\'t be surprise if the contrast ratio is only around 1,000:1 to 2,000:1...

Having to mörklägga your whole room/apartment each time you feel like playing Sims 2 on your projector or watching 300 Unrated Even-moar-homoerotic-version? ;)

No offense to you guys, but 32  is way too small for me. I\'ve currently got a Hitachi 51S500 50" RPTV , that is around four years old. It\'s a big hefty box, so the idea of getting a 60" that takes up less space is more than appealing. I\'d go plasma, but I refuse to pay the price for a 50" plasma.  I wish I could find a  75" RPTV that had good picture, but from what I read the Sony SRXD have the best picture of RPTVs, so I guess that is what I\'ll go for.  I\'m hopin to get it around first of March / Mid-March. Putting money back now for it, plus the $600 refund from the goverment, another $900 as a bonus from work.  Also putting back to buy a house this year, so that of course will come first.

With all that said, I really can\'t complain about my current TV other than two things.

1: It takes up a lot of space.

2: It only does 1080i.

Oh don\'t feel paranoid, G. I just love ya\'. I came across that post and put two and two together.
My Hi-Def movie collection (much smaller than the SD one).

I\'d do ANYTHING to watch that version of 300. ;)

Raz, like Fastson I sit like two meters from my TV so 32" is fine. I can\'t really fit a bigger TV anyway (and I don\'t want a big box like I said) so it all works out in the end. :)

Hmm....why upgrade if your current hdtv is doing fine?  why not spend your money elsewhere.

When you said 1080i and take a lot of space, I am pretty that is CRT RPTV.  So, it should have really good black and contrast ratio.

unless you don\'t mind replacing the lamp life every 2,000 to 3,000 hours for the Sony SXRD RPTV.  the SXRD does also have really good black and contrast ratio too...but to spend $300 to replace the lamp every 3,000 hours of usage can be pricey.
