LIC refuses to try the full version of Uncharted and won\'t even try GTA4.

But then again, he never liked GT3 either. At least he\'s consistent with his "head in the sand" persona. ;)

Reviews are worthless.
Sometimes they provide some indication. But the demo was available around the release date of the game which can give a better idea

Or maybe I just don\'t care for pointless violence and games with piss poor aiming systems.

No way.
Conan was a great game with just the right amount of violence.

Not only that it featured the great talents of Ron Perlman.

Well, they fixed the aiming. As for "pointless"... The in-game violence has a point unless you decide to go on a rampage for no reason, but then that\'s a choice you make as a player.

Just has no appeal to me what so ever. I bought GTA3 and Vice City, I promptly got rid of them both. Got burned twice and won\'t happen a third time. Then again, I don\'t even care for these so called "sandbox" games. People enjoyed Crackdown and I found it extremely lacking also.

God of War rocks hard.

As for my pointless violence comment. I\'m talking about the fact that the only thing that truly made the game popular is because they went and made it as violent and offensive as possible. The same applies to Mortal Kombat.  Hey, if you like those games, that\'s fine. Myself, I don\'t care for it. It smells of cheap marketing, in my humble opinion. The maturity level of it is right up there with a 13 year old who uses the word "FUCK" every sentence. Just gets old, in my opinion.

I can understand not liking sand box games. I myself find them so overwhelming that I can only play one every so often.

But I think it\'s unfair to dismiss the merits of what Rockstar games has created. Grand Theft Auto is a great game. You can strip the offensiveness and still have a fun, popular game. See: Bully.

Violence and all that helped create controversy, but the game really took off because of its quality. Compare it to the controversial Manhunt 2 which had the violence but not as much in the quality department, and it didn\'t do as well.

And, because there was such a large, untapped population of gamers looking for adult themes in their quality games, Grand Theft Auto was in the right place at the right time. I don\'t think it\'s cheap marketing to give an audience what it wants.

Also, GTA4\'s maturity level is higher than previous entries in the series in that it is more realistic, and therefor much darker. Also, some of the characters within the game are those with a maturity level of "13-year-olds who say FUCK in every sentence." But those are important characters within the world, so they\'d be creating a different experience without them.

Low level drug dealers are not always society\'s most cultured members.

As I said earlier, to each his own. But do you honestly think GTA would of been near as popular had it not had the violence and sexual themes? Would Mortal Kombat been as popular? Most likely, not. You\'re right tho\' and I misspoke. The violence in this game is there for a reason - to create an environment.

With that said it mostly boils down to me not enjoying sandbox games. I\'ve yet to play one that I enjoy. Wait - I take that back. Does Oblivion count? I played the shit out of that.

Yes: Bully.

Only a fraction of the violence that GTA has. Hell, Street Fighter 2 is pure violence. :p

Minus the fact that Bully was riding on the success of the developer who made GTA? Had Bully been made without Rockstar being so well known, would it had succeed? Obviously, we can\'t go back in time, but one can figure that with Rockstar being so well known, the extra hype gave Bully enough momentum to be successful.

And don\'t try to compare Street Fighter 2 . We know it\'s violent. No shit, sherlock. The discussion is based on things like Mortal Kombat, a game that was obviously inferior to Street Fighter 2 gaining popularity due to the fact it had extreme violence.

from the video comparison, it looks like the PS3 has more accurate black level while the XBOX360 has flatter, grey-out looks...as if the brightness was crank up on the 360 or the 360 has different gamma setting.

At the beginning of the video, in the cave scene showing robert downey and the scientist guy.  The PS3 does seems to have smoother framerate while the xbox360 motion stutters.  second time watching the video more closely, it does looks like the PS3 has smoother and consistent framerate overall than the 360 version.

Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.
