Another perfect score for MGS4 has come in courtesy of Player TV UK. The reviewer termed it as the best game on Playstation 3 and as one of the best games ever made.

I think this 10/10 is more warranted than that gta4 garbage...;)

I d always felt that the GTA series although it was a very good for its genre, it was overrated as a game. I acknowledge the quality despite not being my style but I cant see that 10 being representative even if I try to see it from the perspective of a fan.

I sometimes have the impression that GTA4 partly got that score due to its large marketing campaign, publicity and because of the size of the publisher.

There were many peculiar things reported lately such as Ubisoft "threatening" some reviewers because of the score they gave to Assassin\'s Creed or Haze. Imagine if the same would happen to a super popular game such as GTA.

GTA4 is a great game, but I need to take long breaks from games like that. I think I got about 35% done with the missions before I got bored and sent it back to gamefly.

I\'ll keep my saves though so I can rent it again when I get a hankerin\'.

Gamefly just emailed me that Metal Gear was shipped to me today.... I\'m very excite!

Yeah, they ship games the day before the official release all the time.

I guess they can do that because it\'s not like your going to get the game the same day its shipped.

Well....Target just happens to hold all my games for me. I just go there and pick it up and pay. :)

9.3 from gametrailers....

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35051.html

i think it probably could\'ve been a bit higher just based on the quality that you get from this series, and just looking at what scores other games have gotten...but whatever...9.3 is still a respectable score,...i\'m going to pick this one up soon....

I am very surprised at the score it got for the gameplay and story. There are games with far worse story that got 9 and above. The gameplay also offers more variety AFAIK than games such as Gears of War or Uncharted

I can see why the score isn\'t higher than 9.3, and 8.9 for the gameplay.   The reviewer said trying to remember the functions of each button when controlling Snake to do a specific things can be frustrating, and the cutscene storyline are so long that you have to pause it to take a break in between cutscene because the cutscenes are long and there are lots of them.

I can see why the physic of this game hasn\'t improve much compare to its predecessor is because they really try to make the graphic look really good, and it does look great, and trying to do that with better physic will cost a performance hit, slowing down the framerate.  I can see the framerate getting clunky here and there from the videoclip, especially in cutscenes.  So, it will not be possible to add more or better physic while trying to maintain smooth framerate.

Maybe on next generation console like the PS4, they might be able to get awesome graphic with awesome physic....but now, they focused more on graphic than they do with physic.

Do you mean animation when you say physics?

The reviewer probably didnt get used to the controls. In MGO I ve seen players do unbelievable things even though they were battling against humans. Their CQC techniques were deadly.

yeah.  characters animation, and also, physics overall too.  like when Vamp threw the knives, the physic on those knives flying does look last generation.

Surprisingly, every other review praises MGS4 for it\'s new gameplay control system marking it as fluid & a renovation the series needed. I guess GT wanted controls even more casual.
The Vamp knives throw ; it\'s during a cutscene ; it\'s directed animation of course.

Physics : E for All demo\'s got alot of praise on the specific point of NPC physics
reaction to bullets and falling animations

Character animation of Snake : It\'s no fluidity like in Splinter Cell, Uncharted or Assassin\'s Creed, but indeed a step above anything the series had so far. Until the Assassin\'s Solid spoof, Snake\'s running animation was exactly like in MGS3 ; a staccato kind of run, very arcady looking ; it looks better now.

I\'ll try to pick up a PS3 + this game after work, today.

Yeah I think that the improvement in physics was obvious in MGO as well. Explosions and killing shots produced the expected results
I once saw someone getting killed from a high spot, fall, hit a pipe, then hit the ground in a convincing manner.

Explosions would also blow your character far away like a rag doll.

I expect the finished product in SP mode is even much more improved
