You can think it\'s stupid all you want, but there is definitely something admirable about being willing to put yourself in jeopardy for what you believe in.

It\'s a holiday that\'s meaning doesn\'t really show itself until you know someone who has died in service.

I think Memorial Day and Veterans Day are the two most important holidays. So many men and women have sacrificed their lives for this country and they need to be remembered, or else our nation would not be here.

Spent my memorial day volunteering at a Veterans picnic.  No matter how you feel about war, you have to be at least respectful of those guys. They went through complete hell to keep the status quo for the normal population.

As for the comment about knowing someone in the service. Most of my family is in the service and I\'ve had plenty of family who served in WW2. I respect them, but there is no way in hell I\'d ever even think of doing it. The idea of being so dedicated to your country you are willing to give your one single life, well, it\'s just crazy.

Learn to read MM and quit trying twist things. I never said "stupid Americans" and by you saying that, you are only serving to make the whole discussion worse.

just because you don\'t understand their state of mind doesnt mean you should disrespect the veterans and current soldiers by saying their holiday is a joke. Soldiers are an unfortunate necessity, but i still respect the hell out of everyone that serves
