Which means I did not question the happening (edit: or the size) of the holocaust or claim that it wasnt a big deal. I said that our perception of the holocaust is inflated and I pointed out it is inflated in the sense that we all remember the Jewish holocaust as the biggest and most tragic event loss a race has ever encountered in our recent history.

Also I would like to point out that some events are also taken to the one extreme deliberately. For example historians have pointed out that the numbers claimed by many that were murdered in the gas chambers were much less. The most casualties in the concentration camps were a result of epidemics. The Nazi\'s were burning and burying these corpses because they had to eliminate contamination or had to do something with the huge amounts of dead prisoners (that were also a result of extremely inhuman conditions).

The Jewish that were initially targeted were those of the communist party and those belonging to the middle or lower class. The upper classes in Germany were not targeted. It was later that things got out of proportion and out of control.

Also the Russians have lost 20 million people vs 6 million Jewish. And in our recent history there have been larger genocides than that of the Jewish.

Stalin did kill a lot of his own people. It\'s not exactly genocide. Pol Pot killed almost as many of his own people. They were leaders who killed their own people. The Jews were a minority who had NO ONE to defend them. No leader to call their own.

They did though take into account the size and the amount of ovens, and they concluded that they were too small/few to claim that the thousands we have seen getting buried and incinerated were from the gas chambers.

Correct me on that one. I meant to say chambers were few/small to support that the thousands of dead Jewish they showed us in photos being buried and incinerated were inhumanly killed in the gas chambers. Most of them died from epidemics.

We were talking about the holocaust so I thought you would understand that I was talking about the WW2.

20 million Russians died but no one seems to remember. care or even know. Russia had more casualties than any other country. This is because they were under a supposed "Communist regime" and the EU allies and US bombarded the masses with the Nazi monstrosity towards the Jewish that resulted to the holocaust, taking away any form of empathy towards Russia. The EU allies also had their own concentration camps btw which had captured many Germans and treated them just as inhumanely. That included also Germans in general and not necessarily Nazi\'s.

The Nazi\'s were killing based on political orientation and classes as well btw.

As for my school we were being taught the same conventional history you are being told. But of course history is formed as the Winners of war see fit. They cover their crimes and the only criminals are the losers

Hmmm...i used to see these types of folks, on the corner of church st and flatbush in brooklyn,..preaching the same stuff and handing out pamplets...i kinda felt sorry for white dude..he was more like.."can\'t we all just get along?".....and while these cats are leaning more towards the radical side of it...some of the things that they stated are indeed true,....it just seems that when people mention the holocaust most white folks get all emotional and act as if that is the greatest tragedy ever,....but mention slavery?...and what reaction do you get from white folk?...."i wasn\'t responsible for that" or "get over it"....there definitely is a different reaction to both of these horrific tragedys.

The years are startin\' to stretch a bit now, but it wasn\'t too long ago that blacks had to go to different bathrooms than whites or had to drink from different water fountains or sit at the back of the bus,..and all of that occured during ww II and afterwards. I\'m not gonna go into who actually are the true jewish folk,..i\'ve always kinda believed the true jews were the one\'s born over seas and those jews that are currently in israel, are not really jews at all since they were just placed there....

But again i\'m not too knowledgeable on the history of those issues, and again while some of the things these guys said are true, i don\'t think it makes any difference at this point,..slavery was a horrible time for black folk,..hell the 50\'s & 60\'s were a horrible time for black folk and even today in 2008, we are reminded with stories as recent as the jena six incident that race is still an issue for some white folk to grasp...but yea..the holocaust was a terrible event and slavery was bad,...
