And I get the wrong stereotype by videos like this of Europe. This is why I want to take a nice long trip out to Europe and see it for myself. Hey, if I end up getting a good job as a videographer for a production company, maybe I get to travel the world and film stuff :)

I can\'t believe I\'m saying this ( ;) ) but Unicron is spot on on everything he has said in this thread. I get the feeling he\'s been studying this subject pretty well. and Raz, if you got nothing to add except for sad attempts at trying to offend unicron, please do everyone a favor and stay out of this topic. you\'re the one who\'s being the idiot here...

btw, I\'ve lived near the german border for almost my entire life. I\'m not saying I like them, but they are no more racist than any other country is racist. That professor someone was talking about should start doing some research instead of just blurting crap out.

It of course is a FACT that the jews have been treated horribly throughout history, but that doesn\'t excuse the fact that the holocaust is just one of the many horrible acts by humans on other humans, but for some reason it is not done to even consider comparing anything to it...

I think that was the key point Unicron was initially trying to make, and it\'s a valid one. It didn\'t help his case though that he was toning down the german wwII mindset (however, true it may be), because people (some blindly) started jumping him for it and thus straying from what was the key point.

ps. that football player that got killed was Andres Escobar, he played for the national team of colombia and scored an own goal during the world cup. He was killed by one of his fellow countrymen, who, according to a eye witness, shot him 16 times, each time screaming: GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! etc. pretty sick if you ask me :eek:

Yeah I think you will benefit a lot from it. Seeing the way of living of each country, their norms, culture etc is knowledge. You will get a better understanding of the world too. Especially if you start questioning what is considered "normal". :)

First of all I said are not were. Secondly the point I wanted to make of that specific post/part, was that for decades we feel remorse for the Jews, like the race which has endured a lot, [SIZE="3"]but we ignore their own crimes[/SIZE] (and other genocides). Not necessarily in Germany but for example see Israel. The Holocaust is being used over and over and over again as if to keep us away from knowing more. It has become some kind of dogma we blindly follow ignoring everything else and it even got some twists to touch the masses further and their attention away from other events.

I ve recently started questioning the completeness of history itself and the way we perceive it, because I see how much politics are involved in it, and the winners can manipulate history with half truths and/or intentional emphasis on specific events to overshadow some other events, their own crimes or to attack some political enemy.

I did not even put the effort to explain what I ment because once you start showing that kind of attitude I dont feel like it. Whatever I say I feel you ll take it the wrong way.

Thats why with Titan I continued discussing, and I enjoy discussing with him because he is not like you, lic, and that other guy who jumps in the middle of nowhere to post crap. Really I wonder how come he is not banned. Almost every post he made was spamming or insults. Ok you are not as bad as them but you get the picture. I try not to insult anyone even if he says something I disagree with. But some others are waiting for the perfect chance.

As far as the peace process goes both sides are at fault,..israel have disregarded agreements at certain times and continued to build on palestinian land, while palestinians have refused to either talk to israel or have failed to stop the terrorists in their own counrty...but Uni your agrument can go both ways as far as winners manipulating history,...the same can be said of the losers of such a war....everybody will make their cause and actions seem just...

Of course. But which one is going to be believed, written and heard the most? That of the humiliated, finger pointed loser? Or that of the all powerfull "saviors"?  ;)

But there are those who try to see history more objectively. These arent heard because it is not them that have the power of information.

If the Nazi\'s prevailed and conquered the world it is their biased interpretation of many events you would have accepted.

Point is, always question the completeness and accuracy of information. We are victims of incomplete and false information constantly and we dont know it
