Also lost on why this forum needs to be without mods. You mean to tell me, out of the twenty or so actual users, three or four decent mods can\'t do it? The problem is more the mods you SELECTED. Honestly, UNI a mod? What were you smokin\' that day?


It\'s hard to discuss something when people make totally absurd comments and can\'t back them up, bud.

And can we quit lying to ourselves? There is no new site to be launched and if there was, it wouldn\'t attract members. It\'s way to late to jump on the PS3 boat, as far as a forum is concerned.

Sam - we all know Uni deleted the posts, unless you want to step up and say you done it. The posts deleted was by Giga and I both. The two people who won\'t let him weasel out of his absurd and idiotic comments.

Be more specfic, please. Seems to me Luke and the others one were not abusiong their power and was doing exactly what was required. If things got to out of hand, they closed the thread, otherwise they let it live.


And you\'re still dodging one issue. Who deleted Giga and my posts (For no reason). And what was done about it? Is this some kind of reaction to the fact that a MOD you selected started taking things personal? What exactly inspired this whole NO MOD in OFF-TOPIC ordeal. I find it curious that it came about after this whole big mess with out resident Goat Breeder.

Actually, I\'m still waiting on "PSX3 Central forums". Because.... guess what, I\'m a longtime member here and I just bought a PS3.

If the current gen has a 10year lifecycle (just for examplesakes), then this forum still has 8 years of valid PSX3 Central potential.

This would of been valid, say almost two years ago. That is the reason this forum was popular. It was here before the PS2 was out. What happened to it? People moved on to other forums and game systems. You start a new forum up now, you have to try and compete with all the big sites and various other dedicated PS3 sites. It really, just isn\'t realistic to expect to launch a PS3 site and actually get new members who will contribute something. Especially when we can\'t even get new members here to stay. You can\'t deny the fact that this forum is just barely alive and a shell of its oldself. If just a few more \'main members\' (Gman /Vid for example) leave, this forum may as well be closed. And now you are closing membership to any new members. You\'re dooming the forum even further with an action like that. That takes away any chance of someone new taking the spot of a regular who eventually leaves.


As for the reason I don\'t stay away. Boredom is one reason. Another is I do enjoy the posts of certain people (Luke, Jumpy, Gman and Clips for example).

I don\'t need to "step up" because I didn\'t do anything. All I was saying was that we didn\'t know for sure what happened. It seems Unicron really did it, but I just thought it would leave a trace that other mods could see. Seems like it didn\'t.

mm, I didn\'t mean to say you did it. I just said it was a possibility (like it was a possibility that someone else did it, or hell, even a forum glitch of some sort).

EDIT: By the way I find this whole "Unigate" thing a bit ridiculous. Yes, he was acting like a retard. And yes, some of you guys took it way beyond the reasonable. Different situation to the PS2. Masses of people were really not picking up the PS3 ...until Uncharted : Drake\'s Fortune ?

I didn\'t find it worthwhile to buy a PS3 until yesterday and so do many others seem to be of opinion ( I had to search several stores in the city with actual PS3\'s in stock - most said ; "Sorry, PS3\'s r sold out r us" ). The console is picking up steam gradually, also on the game development side of things (that\'s what actually triggers it).

Anyway, I\'m not saying a complete superduper PS3 mainsite + forums is necessary ;
Just a nice little forum layout redesign with new banner logo & fonts/colours and the occassional PS3 game member (p)review ;
the main forums r a bit more active lately already.

until the new psx3central site launches (some day), off-topic discussion is now completely un-moderated aside from illegal discussions.
new memberships have been turned off since i cannot keep up with all the damn bots that spam the site.  so if you step over the line and your login suddenly doesn\'t work anymore, you\'ll know why.

i\'m really not interested in who wants to be the internet bully and who gets their feelings hurt.  

this place is a shadow of its former self when it comes to any sort of intellectual discussion.

i don\'t care either way, this forum just dulls the boredom while i wait on other things to do. To be honest, most of the net bores me these days. Apart from getting sheet music and guides for guitar.

This forum is still good for those of us that are regulars.  LIC and Soul are right... it staves off the boredom (especially to those of us that work).  

The original post that led to all of this probably should have been moved to CE - since that forum isn\'t as laid back as this one.  Everyone here knows the opinions, accusations and insults fly in CE and that is what that forum was created for - Debate.  The whole holocaust thread turned into a massive debate and probably shouldn\'t have been kept here.  

Either way, I still like this forum and I do get a good laugh from some of the posters here - especially in OT.

Exactly. You were doing a fine job, so I don\'t buy into this whole thing. You have one MOD going aganist the grain and taking personal things against other posters and now all of a sudden, every good MOD is no longer a MOD? That\'s total B.S.  And it\'s downright insulting to you and the other MODS who were actually doing what was expected of them.  And how can you, MM, pop in and say the OFF-TOPIC Mods aren\'t doing "what was required", when you rarely post and don\'t offer any sort of guidance to the actual MODS who do something. You show up here and there, mark a snide comment, close a thread . And yet, it\'s MODS like Luke, who aren\'t doing what is required? It seems to me, they are doing what is required. They post often, they let threads live unless they need closed and they keep things in line.

As for Sammy\'s comment. I said, step up, because you were acting like he was innocent, when he wasn\'t. The forum wasn\'t glitched. The other mods didn\'t do. So can we please, quit making excuses for a MOD who is deleting posts by people he doesn\'t like? There is no excuse for it.  As for, "Unigate...It\'s no big conspiracy. He made a comment. Soul and Giga both nailed it. This forum survives because of boredom. I post mainly at work , when I have nothing else to do. I imagine most do also.

Well LIC, I didn\'t even know Unicron was a mod. That was a clearly a mistake.

And by abusing his powers he should be called on it and stripped of said powers.

Trying to get back on topic of PSX3 Central:

I think the forums should be modded by the regulars. It seems if this becomes a blog site, it will be run by us. I personally think any PSX2Central regular qualifies if they hadn\'t abused powers before
