Man, I\'ve been there. I\'m not being rude, but just because she says she could see herself dating you, well, it means nothing. She is saying that to keep you around, nothing more.

The fact you admit you dig the chick says a lot. You can sit here and type things about not knowing where you\'ll be after college and what not, but you are still giving thoughts to being with her, just be admitting you dig her and what not.

I agree with you LIC. But I don\'t agree about always being doomed a friend. My last girlfriend was actually my friend first and we went out and had a very happy relationship until the end (distance. Long distance relationships suck, lol). I think it depends on the friends and the relationship the friends have.

I know you don\'t want to hear it but it sounds more like she just wants your attention and just wants to keep you on the back burner for "just in case". If she knows you like her why constantly tell you about her boyfriend and make you miserable?

Thing is, her telling me about her boyfriend doesn\'t make me miserable. I honestly don\'t care. I\'m happy to help her when she asks for advice and I\'m always listening, just like she did when my girlfriend and I broke up. Its just that this kid pisses me off. He goes onto her phone and text messages me acting like her to spy (though I know her so well that I can tell when its her or not). He doesn\'t trust her and thinks she\'s doing things. He tells her that she is not allowed guy friends and deleted the guy numbers from her phone. I was hanging out with her yesterday and he texted her saying that she better not be hanging out with "that kid" or else there would be dire consequences. Basically your run of the mill douche.

Maybe it is a "back burner" thing. Who knows. Chicks are nuts. I\'m not dwelling on it. Things tend to unfold as they should and I\'m not trying to tie myself down to anyone right now and close windows of opportunity. When I was with my girlfriend, I passed up opportunities to be with other girls and shut windows that would have otherwise been open.

I could see a thread about girl problems on this board not being torn apart.  Doesn\'t mean it\'d ever actually happen.

Until it actually does happen, when a girl says "she could see herself with you", it usually comes with a "but".  The people here are saying so, cause we\'ve all known that type of girl.  She\'s complaining about her relationship to her male friend who she knows likes her?  She just wants the attention.

It was 3 or 4 in the morning. I was tired, cranky, and no one was around to just say "what the fuck" to to what just happened. I was mostly pissed that the dude ditched her in the middle of a bad area the night before (for the second time actually) and she called me crying stranded at a convenience store saying how much of an asshole he was for doing that and how its totally over and she went back to him the next day (for reasons that still perplex me). Then I tried to go to sleep to sleep off the frustration and this douchebag called me giving me an attitude because I was texting and talking to her. That elevated me from annoyed to pissed which kept me up even later in the night, hence me venting I wouldn\'t have posted if it was just the first part. I was fine by the time I woke up in the morning.

Only reason I\'ve written so much in this thread is because you guys seem to have the wrong idea, especially about the relationship between me and my friend. I never expected this.....though this is PSX2Central I should have expected it, lol. Though one good thing about it is it did make me think a bit. Not necessarily about her but just think in general.

Generally speaking though for many women I believe it goes like this.

 When something happens to them and makes them feel like shit about their selves they will seek sympathy from a good male friend to gain self-assurance. When they have all the self-assurance they want from their friend, off they disappear until "the next episode".

If sympathy has some slight ambiguity in it they will keep seeking attention because they didnt get the responses they wanted.

They are kind of exploiting us sometimes to soothe their psychological torments

Well it actually is possible to be just friends with girls,..even tho most of the girls i was friends with i ended up crushin\' it,...with the exception of a few,...so sometimes guys are going to be suspicious of their girlfriend\'s guy friends,...but this guy sounds like a total jackass if he dropped your friend off in a bad part of town.

I usually only let feelings get involved if the feeling is mutual,...you guys stated it is mutual but you\'re going to hold off a bit,..ok fine,..what you need to do titan is just to leave your feelings on tha shelf and let her crash & burn on her own. Eventually she\'ll get tired of being a doormat to this dude. let her find her way....her boyfriend is an a**hole for texting you tho,..if he can\'t handle her havin\' male friends then he should\'ve never gotten involved with her in tha first place.

Yeah I hear ya. Back in my early - mid twenties I was such a moron when it came to relationships. Everything was the end of the world. I made it so complicated.

I guess being married puts all that shit in perspective.
