The Wind That Shakes the Barley (film)
« on: August 01, 2008, 12:40:50 PM »
Anyone here seen it? Its from 2006, and I didn\'t know it even existed before my mom asked if I could get it for her, she has a thing for Ireland. So I ordered it on DVD and got it today.

Very strong movie, love the setting and I think they managed to capture the time perfectly. Cillian Murphy is pretty awesome in it. He can look a little out of place in some movies, but here he fits in perfectly.

Anyone in the know of what happened during that period, the 1920\'ies Ireland that is? Just how accurate is it? You\'d think GB had seen enough suffering in World War I to treat the Irish in the way they treat the people in the movie.

Well, I highly recommend it, rent/buy it if you can.
