I called this a couple weeks ago, and it makes sense since she is like an uber conservative and a strong supporter of drilling.  She makes a lot of sense for the country right now.

However, McCain will now have to back off his Obama is inexperienced angle seeing as how Palin has only been governor for two years.

Overall, I think this is a boom or bust pick that will lead to a history making election either way.

Obama just lost the female vote.

Hillary supporters are jumping for joy.

Palin is a milf. She seems like a good strong woman and a pretty level headed politician. I\'ve started to lean towards McCain after I\'ve heard from some people in the service of Obama\'s indifference toward the military.

What a joke...all you McCain supporters are clearly blinded by why he did this....to clearly get hillary voters...and he questions Obama\'s judgement?.....he didn\'t pick a vp based on that person bein\' able to instantly take over if he dies...it looks desperate to me....after all of that talk about Obama\'s inexperience, then he picks her?...sorry,..you guys are clearly being fed bulls**t to tha 8th degree.

Let\'s see how this pan\'s out...since alot of the so called on the fence white voters that won\'t vote for Obama because they don\'t know enough about him...even tho they\'ve had 18 months to get to know him, let\'s see how fast these on the fence white voters embrace Mrs. Palin..over the course of what? 2 months?...my guess they will embrace her with open arms and act like she has the experience of a 20 year polititian...really desperate move by McCain to get hillary voters

That is the only reason why he choose her,..to get her votes and he clearly was not thinking about the "country first" as he likes to put it...Mitt Romney clearly was the choice i thought he would\'ve picked....McCain is weak on economics and Romney has a firm grip on it...i thought for sure he was going to pick him...again,..let\'s see how fast these "undecided" white folks embrace miss sunshine in 2 months....

Welcome to the world of politics.  The name of the game, GET VOTES.  If we were truly voting for the best people for the job Obama and McCain wouldn\'t be our choices.  In a single swoop, McCain just stole the following demographics:

Females & Angry Hillary Supporters
Energy Nuts
Young men who like hotties
On the fence conservatives

Are those good reasons?  No... but it sure the hell is a lot of votes.  As it stood he was not going win on Nov. 4.  He shook things up and now I think he has the upper hand.

Let us also not forget that being Governor is an EXECUTIVE position.  McCain, Biden, and Obama have not held that kind of position.

Obama went with the safe plain vanilla pick, McCain went outside the box, and as much I don\'t care for the guy, I think he made the right move.

She is a cardboard standup to attract women voters.  At least she\'s not a walking corpse like her running mate.  If McCain clutches his chest and keels over in office, she will be a puppet president because she has virtually no experience.  EXECUTIVE of the state of Alaska????  That\'s kind of like saying you\'re the President and CEO of a company that makes whoopie cushions.  Not exactly Bill Gates or anything.  It should be obvious that politics in Juneau, AK is very different from politics in Washington DC.

LOL you and Core sound pissed.  Guess McCain hit a homerun with this.  I actually give her more qualification than Obama considering she is the Governor of Alaska, which is an EXECUTIVE office and her state borders two countries.  Palin has a resume of achievements - does Obama?  I think you forget Core, that she is the head of state at the heart of the oil issue.  She is also the CIC of National Guard in Alaska.  This is real change that you can see. :thumb:

Talk about change from the same old Washington politics... it doesn\'t get any better than this.  Biden is a lobbyist pawn who constantly sticks his foot in his mouth.  You complained that McCain was more of the same old politics, yet the true cardboard candidate - Obama picks a babysitter who has over four decades in Washington!!!!

I love it!  I haven\'t been this excited for the Republican Party ever.  She is fiscally conservative, doesn\'t take shit from anyone including her own party and she loves guns.  She compliments McCain perfectly.  Thumbs down to Obama for lacking class and accusing her of being inexperienced, when he has even less experience.  Clips - if you knew anything about the GOP you would know Romney is not well liked.

All McCain\'s campaign needs to do to sway me over is release a picture of Palin in a swim suit :)

I do think she is a good choice. I agree with the executive position on her resume. She has some experience, more than Obama can say. I read on Yahoo that her son is in the Army? I think that is a good thing because she is directly affected by troops being over there. Who cares if she is a governor of Alaska. That doesn\'t mean she won\'t do a good job. Clinton was a governor before he became president and he was praised as a president by many. And just because its Alaska, doesn\'t mean that state doesn\'t have its share of problems that need to be addressed. Alaska is one of the hot spots for oil. It is a hot spot for environmental protection in terms of oil drilling, nature preserves and the fishing industry. Palin has experience in those areas and is more understanding than say if we had a choice from New Jersey which is a big oil refinery. Mad props to McCain. Every day, I sway more and more to him.

heh, found this image of her.

I kinda wish she ran for president. Maybe I\'d pay a little more attention to politics and actually give a rats ass when the president gives a speech :D

I\'m not angry.  I don\'t know anything about Palin, and I\'m not passing judgement on her yet.  I just think it\'s obvious that the Republican party chose her as the running mate in a calculated ploy to mop up votes.  I think they don\'t care about her qualifications or lack thereof.  All they care about is the short term goal.

A lot of democratic voters are very comfortable with Obama\'s experience and comfortable with him being elected president.  He collected millions of votes in the primaries.  Obama then went on to select a VP with more experience than himself.  I see that as a commitment to fulfill the responsibilities of the office.

McCain on the other hand selects a VP with minimal experience solely for the purpose of collecting votes.  What does that say about his commitment to the office?

Just like the Dems selected a black man for the purpose of collecting votes.  Hillary was the better candidate, but thanks to Super Delegates and the Dems screwed up Primary system you have the party basically selecting the nominee.

I think McCain would have a difficult time selecting a running mate with more experience than himself would he not?

OB-One KaNewbie has no room to talk.  He has zero executive experience.  People were talking about Palin long before OB-One KaNewbie was the nominee.  Many Conservatives have hailed McCain\'s choice - not only because of gender, but because of her stance on issues.

I can see the Obamatons trying to figure out if they can remove and replace HairPLUGZZZZ aka Biden and put Hillary back in.

Oh and Titan I believe that is a Photoshoped picture.  She was in Vogue though.

Obama was selected through a democratic process.  People voted for him, and he attained a lead in the delegates.  The very fact that the primary race was so close supports this.  If the party had "selected a black man for the purpose of collecting votes," they would have ended the battle much sooner.

Hillary was not the better candidate.  She\'s a cynical bitter hack who votes for her own short term gain and holds grudges.  She is poison to the Obama campaign, and democrats are not plotting to remove Biden.
