Earlier last month, Take-Two, publishers of Bioshock and Grand Theft Auto, list the PlayStation 3 as its biggest revenue generator on the publishing side, with 35% of the quarterly take; That beats out the Xbox 360, which brought in 28% of its publishing dollars, and the Wii, at 11%.


It seems this may becoming trend, as UbiSoft is reporting a similar story.  So far for the fiscal year of 2008, 21% of the publisher\'s sales have come from the PS3.  Of the three home consoles, that is the largest percent, with Microsoft\'s XBox 360 trailing at 20% and the Wii at 15%.  This is quite a mix up from the 2007 fiscal year, where the 360 actually had the highest amount of sales out of all platforms at 25%.

UbiSoft is expecting to meet their financial goals for the fiscal year of 2008, with Tom Clancy\'s HAWX releasing for the PS3, 360, and PC in the final quarter of the fiscal year.

2 weeks ago 360 managed to outsell both PS3 and Wii in Japan thanks to Star Ocean4.    Previous week will probably see PS3 outselling both 360 and Wii thanks to yakuza3, and this week it shoud be the same, PS3 outselling both thanks to RE5.   Actual figures will come soon.

Interesting to see PS3 outselling 360 wordwide with a so expensive console in a so bad economy.

PS3 selling a lot more than Wii in Japan, expect the same in Japan for this week.    Maybe Wii will be outsold by 360 too this week in Japan.

Looks like the Sony\'s Juggernaut is moving at last and with a superb game line up comming its only going to get better.

Yep, I truly believe that 2009 line-up(KillZone2, RE5(multi),FFXIII in japan, Infamous, Heavy Rain, R&C2, Uncharted2, GT5, God of War3(2010?), MAG, etc, together with the price cut, will boost a lot PS3.  Things will getter better and better.

PS3 Software – Resident Evil 5 was the big PS3 title for the week, selling 350,000 units in its debut. Yakuza 3, the big PS3 from last week had a large drop. However, the game still topped 60,000 this week. Returning to the preliminary chart was Demon Souls with 8,000 units sold for the week. Expect PS3 sales to jump to the 45,000 to 60,000 unit range this week.

Yep, it\'s crazy considering 360 is a great console and has RPGs.
Previous week 2,128  360 was sold in Japan, and after december it sold weekly between 2,000 and 4,000.

In the hottest week in december, in the middle of december, it sold this compared to PS3 and Wii :

Is there any discussion or rumblings about the development of a PS4?  Or is the cycle of the PS3 going to last much longer than previous systems?

before we hear of PS4, we\'ll hear about WiiHD, then Xbox720 or whatever the names.. they\'ll try to keep the tech specs under secrecy for as long as possible.

I remember an interviaw of the Sony\'s french spokesman and he said the PS3 will be there untill 2014, 2015. So, PS4 in 2015 ? It could be.
